In Aurora you have to clear your sidewalks in front of your house ASAP otherwise you could get fined.

You might want to call first to check on flight status. Runways were not open yet this morning. Cars were stranded along Pena Blvd trying to get to the terminal.

I’m subject to call out 24/7 (so is the wife), so we try and keep the area cleaned out.

Like Sean said, it’s hard getting out to the main roads, but should be fine after that.

Last night 70 people were stranded out in the Black Forest. My neighbor spent all night rescuing and taking them to the firehouse to sleep the rest of the evening. Hope that teaches them a lesson. They closed I-25 and 83 north for a reason.

I’m done for the day. Stuck twice now and had to pull out the big guns.

Just outside CO Springs or is there a different area called Black Forest?

Ok, thought so. Thats where my parents live. I knew they were getting a lot of snow there, but had no idea it was that bad. My step-dad is probably one of the dumbasses that had to get pulled out. He got his F-150 stuck there ~2 years ago when the city shutdown because of a really bad snowstorm.

That was the bomb cyclone of 2019. We purchased the tractor two months later.

Yeah, I put the old Dmax to work and hauled in 200k+ lbs of dirt over 3 days. Now I have a bypass by the fence line.

it wasn’t bad really. I had a front end loader with a 5 yard bucket loading me up, and part of the time has a dump trailer. The rest of the time had my old flatbed. I took 4/32nd’s off the rear tires in those 3 days. Lol

One thing I can attest to is how great my Milestar Patagonia's are in snow these last two days. A perfect tread pattern to grip even the deep stuff. Rarely needed 4W and when I did it was zero effort. 20210315_132831.jpg 20210315_133009.jpg

We just got hammered and March snow isn't done yet. Hi up passes might be clear by mid June if we get warm weather. We get heavy snow in early May too....

That's what I was afraid of.....good to know. I may drop in when the time gets closer and see what yall think. Have an offroad trip planned on rimrocker 3rd week of May with a buddy coming up from Texas. Sounds like I'll need to have a back up plan.

are you starting in montrose? if so, starting elevation isn't high. 5500ish or so. uphill a little heading to nucla and 25 miles in you're near 10k. could be some snow blockage up on the plateau.

this is probably the better site to have bookmarked.

Yes we're going to meet in montrose and run it to the west. Awesome that's perfect

the tricky part will be the 10k section up on the plateau. keep an eye on the weather for the western slope. if montrose/ridgeway/telluride/norwood get hammered, you're going to be out of luck for may. not many back up options around there for that time of year.

Yea the rimrocker is just going to be part of our trip, so if it turns to a no go, we may add to the trip in the San rafeal swell, or add skyline drive in utah on the trip while we work over to the west desert, so i have some options, just need to plan and map exact trails as a backup it sounds like. Skyline should be a good second option bc it's only 70-75% snowpack this year

We are planning on running it in May as well, but probably only to the water crossing and off to the north rim from there. It opened on May 12 last year hoping for the best this year!

JUST finished shoveling. Karma was good to me today. I usually scrape the sidewalks in front of my neighbors' houses if they aren't done. I did that the last 3 storms. I walked out to find my sidewalks clean.

    Now it's HOT AF.

Nice. I always do my neighbors- not today. Nobody helped me so I’m not going to do theirs. Last 3, I’ve also done for them.

Night and day difference from 5am compared to now. Our street in front and on the side of the house almost bare of snow already.

Once we hit 50’s for a couple of days this week- we should see a good amount of melt occur.
