I have the dobinson snorkel - it's exactly the same as the safari but cheaper and without the obnoxious text.

I may have to go with dobinson since ARB is larger and might require surgery on my bushwacker flares....

Any flares will require surgery. That whole angle gets cut off bumper cover and all.

That is a no go for me....will never carve up the flare to get one.

You'll cut your front bumper cover for the bumper, the central piece of the front end, entirely across the piece but not cut a trim piece (fender flare) to match?

    Function before sparkle.
If you are using a pre-filter/cleaner , ensure it has the appropriate CFM otherwise you will have performance issues over 3000 rpm. From a personal experience, I tried a too small Donaldson on a 3.4L V6 Tacoma and there was significant power loss on highway passing. I ended up just swapping it on/off on trails that really needed it.

Years ago there was a great thread on Expedition Portal where someone did the CFM math for a 200 series Land Cruiser with the 5.7 at higher RPMs. From memory, the lesson was a very obvious "use the larger pre-filter".

All the info is definitely in the forums - search feature is your friend. Might even still be a discount code active for snorkelupgrade.com
