Yes. We get a good blizzard maybe 1x a year - if that. We. Can handle a lot, but drifts make it very difficult
S lot of snow plows are now stuck in addition to LE, fire, and medics

My area gets an average of 105” of snow each year.

tractor was worth every damn penny.

    Noon yesterday

Late afternoon we had a small break in the snow. At the start of the first video, this is the south side of my driveway. There’s a 4-6’ drop that I was just pushing off the snow. From the edge of that driveway is about 15’ to the trees.

This is on the south side of the house. Right where my shed is....buried. Glad we didn’t need the generator. Forgot to pull that bad boy out.

This is when I called it quits last night. One side of the driveway.

My back is a bit stiff this morning. More than a bit stiff. I'm going to head over to the lab in a couple hours to see if the snow has been cleared out yet. Boss wants a heads up. I'm in no hurry.....

Supposed to snow again tomorrow.....not much tho. You have a long driveway so I don't envy you at all. Any neighbors notice you have a tractor?

Tomorrow should be a light snow...

My neighbor to the north is the Fire Chief and just has his guys plow his driveway. If I did that with city equipment...fired.

The elderly neighbor to the south I plow for. She had a tractor, but her 78 year old body just can’t do it anymore. We also mow her acreage, split wood for her fireplace, and bring her fresh eggs.

Most others have tractors or skid steers. The ones that don’t either pay a company a few thousand a year to plow or just stay at home for a week. :eek2:

ah, the sounds of my people... Snowblowers in the morning.

Reminds me of the sound of chainsaws after hurricanes, but this is MUCH better.

Gonna shovel some on my lunch break.

    What a BEAUTIFUL day though.

That was a lot of snow really fast. Not all that unusual, but enough to shut down the schools and courts.

The snowblowers are struggling... I live in a housing community with 2 car driveways. It normally takes my neighbors about 10-15 minutes to clear them with snowblowers. They've been working for almost 2 hours now.

As someone that has never experienced that much snow, I was wondering why you'd even bother to dig all that out instead of just letting it melt. Then I realized you probably wouldn't be able to leave your house for a long time. In TN, we pretty much shut down if we get more than 3 inches but it usually melts the next day.

Even in CO, I'm guessing employers are understanding with most people if they can't make it to work? Asking people to dig that much snow out seems like a bit much.

Ya the main issue is getting out of your neighborhood. If you can get out of that and avoid back roads, you should be ok.
The airport runways are still closed until at least 2PM

Lots of 4R were becoming stuck.
    Snow plows were becoming stuck
    Fire Engines becoming stuck
    Medics becoming stuck

PD had their bearcats out to assist with stranded motorists. The NG had their snow machines out to help as well. This storm was relentless.

after helping some neighbors get unstuck yesterday, i'm adding a few things to the recovery kit because i realized that metal shackles in the snow without gloves suck. :anonymous:

so, tossing in a few standard duty soft shackles, a heavy duty soft shackle (for double looping to the flat link on the winch), a hitch link and a couple more shorty straps. also, packed snow in your bumper around the winch line causes problems...

I have to (tentatively) drop family off at DIA this evening if flights do not get cancelled. Heading down from Windsor area, has anyone gotten to I25 north for a glimpse yet?
