That looks like a yellow jacket or wasp so your reaction is understandable. Those guys are out for blood if you look at them wrong. Honey bees have a few thousands years worth of human encouragement to be friendly, and they usually are.

I blame it on my overindulgent childhood living in a time where if you couldn’t kill it or blow it up, you weren’t having fun. Trying to make death defying jumps riding your bmx bike through the woods in search of nudie magazines while trying to avoid landing on hypodermic needles can only entertain you so much.

 

Hey guys quick noob question. Bought a new oil drain plug from the dealer. This copper one was on my plug, should I keep it on there and put this new different one on top or just put the new one on there? Just worried cause they're different. The new one is the blue one. Thanks

 

Looks like the crush washer typically used on the tranny drain plug. You should be good with the new one for the oil.

Belled out some fittings for exhaust town, next week maybe, they didn’t have the proper die for 2.5 so I had to rotate and re bell a lot to get the desired shape and fit.
My mufflers are on a fed ex truck; one passed by but didn’t stop; I wanted to get measurements and bell out 2 more 45s for off of the x pipe into the mufflers, so that might have to wait till Monday or Tuesday and I’ll go back down

 

Whats the consensus on the best sparkplugs? Search sent me a bunch of links to the whydtyfgt thread.

iridium? Platinum? Denso? Ngk?

since i havent done it yet, i figured its more of a lunch table question.

 

I’ve been using the NGK Spec’d (Copper Core Basics) that cost about $2.25 a plug and are rated for 20k miles. The engine runs smooth with them. I bought 2 sets to swap out every 5k miles to monitor engine health.

Here is a pic. Think I’ll only go 10k on them instead of 20k as the gap is opening and they are so cheap.

 

I love a good manual reference.

I’ve been using the same Blue Toyota Washer (like yours pictured) for about 3 years (many oil changes). Chuck the Copper in the trash.

 

Impressive piece of equipment. Must be nice to have a resource where you can make your own schtuff.

When my cousin was around 4-5 he picked up one of their kittens and shoved it's head into the gas tank opening of their mini-van. Broke it's neck. That same group of cousins chased around gophers until they finally trapped one with their foot. They forced it's mouth open, stuck a fire cracker in it's mouth, lit it, and then let it run. Talk about something I'll never forget. They thought it was hilarious.
