Has anyone removed the carpet for whatever reason from their double cab truck? If so do you have any tips/instructions on how to do this or how difficult it is? I would like to pull mine and deep clean it out of the truck.

You'll more than likely need to remove the front seats and the center console.

I have the column shifter but figured the seats. I didn't know if there are strange clips under the center dash section or anywhere.

I removed the carpet from my Crewmax, so if it helps here my input.
I left the rear window open and it rained overnight and I left till the afternoon and it was musty.
It's not hard, but take your time and use plastic removal tools so you don't break any clips and help pull up on clips. All the bottom door sills have to come out to get the carpet out. The panel that the seatbelt is on comes out, its held on with a bolt at the seatbelt attachment and clips. The seats come out pretty easy with a socket. This will give the opportunity to get a real good deep clean done. You'd be surprised just how dirty it can be. Just don't break the clips for the electrics/air bags under the front seats.

Speaking of air bags in the seats. You might have to pull the battery cable or you may get an airbag light or code. I had that happen on a Honda Civic so it may or may not happen on a Toyota.

Thanks. Are the seat belt panel clips similar to the kick panels in the footwells-just pull outward? Also, are the clips on the seat airbags just pull apart?

I removed the passenger seat without disconnecting battery. The airbag light and passenger sensor light lit up. After reinstalling seat I was able to use obd 2 scanner to clear code then disconnected battery for a half hour. That fixed everything.

Yes, just pull up and they come out. The seat belt anchor and the seat mounts are the only bolts. The air bag clips might need a small flathead screwdriver to help get started.

Awesome, thank you. Was your carpet in two sections-front and rear or one solid piece?
