    Lots of shenanigans.
Currently running stock TRD PRO suspension, love it but noticed when on the trails that it is pretty stiff.

I'm sure it's somewhere on here but what're y'alls thoughts on the two? Prefer people with experience running them but any input is appreciated!

King > Icon, but I'd send out your fancy shocks to get worked instead of swapping brands and getting the same or worse ride quality. Use all that fancy shock tunability goodness! Probably just need a rebuild, or while at it have them valved softer.

P.S. - SRQ Fabrications in Sarasota makes a lot of stuff for Toyotas and could probably hook you up.

I would bet both King and Icon would be stiffer than the Pro suspension

I wasn’t aware you can rebuild the bilstein pro shocks? Or do you have Fox pro shocks?

    Lots of shenanigans.
My knowledge when it comes to suspension parts is pretty minimal.
I have the bilstein shocks. Would they still be able to do a rebuild? I was thinking of adding a UCA to hopefully smooth things out

any suggestions on what to do?

A UCA isn't inherently going to smooth out your ride. Surprising to hear that your experience is "stiff" while offroad. Is this slow-speed where you feel the stiffness, or higher speed?

Bilstein Pro’s are not rebuildable. The Fox pros are.

Maybe stiff wasn't the best description but I've noticed that when I go down a rut that it isn't bouncing as much as I would expect it. This is compared to other buddies trucks that I have ridden in.

Also, mainly during slower speeds. Im not hitting the trails very fast.

Icons will be stiffer on the slow stuff than Kings.
I have ADS on my Tundra and Kings on the wife’s Sequoia. Kings are smoother on the Sequoia. However, the Sequoia has a supercharger and metal tube bumper so the extra weight on the front end may contribute to the smooth ride. My Tundra is stock

So... A proper suspension won't be "bouncing around".

Ex - Hopefully this lets you watch it.

It’s all about valving. I don’t know if you can re-valve the Pro Shocks, but different ball game with Kings, Icons, Fox, ADS shocks. I don’t see nothing special about the Pro shocks.

If you decide to go with new UCAs get Total Chaos over the Icons, definitely a brand favorite here.

I had Icons in my truck when I bought it.. night and day difference when I moved to adjustable King 2.5s in the rear.. softest setting was like floating on a cloud... to be fair these were just the standard Icon 2.0 shocks and a completely different price point and shouldn’t really be comparable anyways..

I liked the Icon 2.5 coilovers enough in the front, no real complaints there.. just didn’t like how much preload was required to get the lift height I wanted. I enjoy my Fox 2.5s now and am very happy.

You are correct. I think the Pro suspension would be valved the softest. The progressive Kings would feel softer than the digressive Icons at slow speeds

I actually just ordered a set of Icon Delta Joint UCAs to go with my Elka setup. I'm curious to see how I like them given that I have only ever had uniball setups in the past.

I think you will like the low maintenance of the delta joint. The issue they I know about the icons Delta joint UCAs is all about the geometry, I believe they come with a lot of Caster dialed in and make it more difficult fitting larger tires and getting a good alignment unless you have the heimmed joint version.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Last time I went I was running the dealership Michelin so I didn't bother adjusting the PSI. I am running Falken Wildpeaks now and will adjust it next time to see the difference.

Ok, thanks for the info!! How do you think the total chaos would run with the Bilstein TRD PRO coilovers?

I’ve owned all kinds of Icons and they all squeaked. 2.0, 2.5, bypasses, etc. Go on Tacoma world and you’ll see most go from Icon to King but never the other way around.

That shock body coating they have makes all the difference huh.

It wasn’t too long ago Icon had some severe weather coating too which was half the reason most people even bought their crap.

Living up north here that’s why I’m going with Elka. Greater travel over stock, and should be more resilient against the elements. We shall see!

    Research progressive vs digressive.

    Icon, Bilstein = di
    Everyone else = pro

First figure out the ride quality and performance you want (valving wise) then start looking at mfgs.

@state48overland will be happy to spend some time with you on the phone helping you narrow down based off performance and price point.

Even better. On my aluminum coilovers for my Lexus I waxed and sealed them for extra shininess. Not sure if it helped tbh.
