If you've never owned a Beemer, the Tundra is quiet as a church mouse by comparison.

I had to take mine in because the gauge would get to 0 and the light still wouldn't come on. 2020 is a 3 Gallon trigger

The electronic 4WD is infuriating -- it takes forever to shift from 4WD back to 2WD. I long for the days of the manual floor shifter where I could pop the truck out of 4WD quickly if I need to make a sharp turn, then back into 4WD.

I'd settle for just a limit slip diff. 9 times out of 10, if there's a skiff of snow on my driveway, I have to use 4WD to get in the garage. The "electronic limited slip" is worthless.

Yes, I was referring to the Gate's, but should also be done on any cap. I usually make extra clicks on any torque limited caps, just to make sure is sufficiently tighten.

My Fords all had manual hubs so you had to have the hubs locked. I don't mind the electronic for 4hi it is low that sucks. As far as a locker goes I had one on my 2013 4wd Tacoma and you had to be in 4lo. I only used it when I was in deep shit.

Damn factory all weather mats don’t even cover the carpet under the gas pedal. The back seat floor mats are even worse! Hello Toyota? Seriously? Just ridiculous! It isn’t helping our sustainability one little bit when we have to buy a set of Husky weather beaters and fill the landfill with an almost identical amount of rubber compound. I wouldn’t be surprised if the inferior factory mats were made by the same company as Husky either. All so they can sell us two sets and make more $$! Seems about right for the times we are living in.

    I found this irritating also.
What I determined is that if you slightly accelerate after you switch from 4WD to 2WD it will shift to 2WD much more quickly instead of leaving "4-HI" flashing for so long.

Well I just ordered my 4th new Tundra so this is really all just nuisance stuff for me..... Top annoyances from my 2017 CM SR5 Off Road Pkg:
    1. plastic steering wheel
    2. cheap quality plastic shift lever (replaced with TRD)
    3. skid plate removals for oil changes
    4. the delay between 2wd 4wd changes
    5. the propensity for immediate rust on undercarriage, suspension components, and nuts/bolts
    6. sunglare on the head unit display makes it frequently unusable
    7. front pillar blind spot
    8. whip antenna (can't wait for the sharkfin on my 2021 Pro)
    9. no underseat storage in rear (CM)
    10. ugly patterned fabric interior (why couldn't they just make it a solid color?)
    11. electronic LSD
    12. undersized brakes

For my 2016 Tundra, it's the constantly rattling, and breaking, muffler heat shield. Repaired it twice already and I can hear it needs to be done again. Seriously considering just removing it, just hate to remove something that was put there as safety item.

Auto 4WD mode would be fantasic! My previous SUV's (Jeep Patriot and Honda Pilot) were Auto AWD and it was great and worry-free. I'd feel a lot more comfortable when my wife drives the truck in the winter (when the conditions are too bad for her Mustang) if the 4WD system would engage automatically. Even if it engaged within 1-2 seconds of when you select it would be nice; seems to take forever to engage when you need it.

It's also a real pain that when you have it 4WD and enter/leave a snow-covered or icy parking lot/driveway, that you have to turn it back to 2WD and slide everywhere because the turning radius in 4WD is sooooo bad. Tried to leave a parking lot a couple months ago in 4WD and had to go all the way around the parking lot to get to the exit because the 4WD wouldn't let me turn it enough to get to the exit 15-ft away from my parking space! My dad's old 1979 GMC Suburban with full-time 4WD didn't have that problem.

I've tried slowing down, speeding up, putting the trans in neutral (not that that should matter) but I haven't tried flooring it or slamming on the brakes - yet. What really sucks is when I'm driving up a snow packed/icy interstate road in 4WD, get to the top and start back down and the other side and it's dry or just wet but I can't drive over 35-40 mph without it feeling like it's going to shake itself to death and the stupid transfer case decides it's gonna stay in 4HI for 3 or 4 miles. Can't even pull over because the shoulder is full of deep snow/slush probably requiring 4WD to get back on the road. Vicious cycle. The other night I had to run into work and coming back the roads got bad enough that I wanted to be in 4WD for a few hills that might have to stop at a stop light. It took 2 miles after getting past that for it to go back into 2WD, just in time to need it to get into the driveway...

Yep, that's when I'd pop my old truck back into 2WD with the lever, it was so simple and quick. I have to use 4WD ALOT more in the Tundra without a limited slip rear diff because it doesn't want to move when it's in 2WD and there's a little ice or snow.

If your truck is taking that long to go from 4hi to 2hi, there’s something wrong with it. Mine never takes more than a few seconds.

I also was upset that my new 2021 did not have the handhold on the pillar or the little plug cap for the tow hook. I am not going to attempt replacing the handhold but I did buy a nice little plug cap for nine dollars on Amazon.

I had them install a bedliner but apparently it got scratched in transport which did not make me happy but worse yet it didn’t sit flat on the side and I had them try to fix it today. They made it a little better. My other half says you should’ve had the spray on bed but I’ve never seen one of those and don’t know what it looks like I’ve always had the regular bedliner which came with my 2008 that you see in my profile picture. I won’t update my 2021 picture until I get my LEER cap.

After that I’m just having trouble when I make a phone call getting the audio to run through the radio with Apple CarPlay.

I also cannot find anywhere what that little button does that is next to the button that turns the lane change sensor on and off. It’s on the right hand side of the steering wheel just above the lane change button which does show up on the front screen when it’s on. The other button looks like it turns on and off the proximity sensor but there’s no way to know that it’s on unless I’m missing something? I’ve tried to go through the manuals and figure it out to no avail. Today I tested it by pulling up behind my Audi in the garage to see the little picture come on or a car with the beeping noise etc. etc. but that’s the only way I can tell.

Also I noticed through Apple CarPlay I can speak answer a text but not through Bluetooth. Mind you I am a Mac tech and some of these things were not as intuitive as I would’ve liked them to be.

if someone would be so kind to let me know about that little sensor button I would be forever happy.

this is my third Tundra. I had one in 2000, in 2008.

Oh thank you for that so I don’t really need to touch it and it’s on anyway? I hope I haven’t screwed anything up by pressing it because I never use cruise control.

Thank you very much because it would’ve kept this idiot busy for Who knows how many hours trying to figure it out. :)

Now I just have maybe one or two more things to figure out and I’m good. I’ve only had the truck couple of weeks with only a few hours of time available to figure these things out and play with them. I don’t like to read manuals. I will confess I did resort to the manual but I still couldn’t find the answer.
