New to community about to upgrade suspension and tire size on my 2000 SR5.

Planning on using it for mostly campouts/intermediate trails.

Thinking about going w/ bilstein 5100s.
Open to hearing selling points on 4600 or 6112 for the application.

    Planning on applying a 2-3 inch lift w/ 285/75 r16 tires.

I’m really wondering what’s the biggest tire I could go without any rubbing or adding spacers or anything on a 2-3 bilstein lift. Thanks.

I’m running 285 17 ko2 on 6112 front with camburg uca. I had to do a lot of trimming to stop the rubbing, Specially when you are compressed. I only rub now at full lock to the left, and I have spacers on the way to fix that. Or look for a rim with more of a negative offset -10 or more. I went with 0 offset.

if you are going with a bigger tire I would recommend new Toyota lower ball joints

I have zero offset too, and rub a bit when in reverse. 285/70/17 Toyo

    What size/kind spacers you getting?

I would keep planning on 285/75/16. That's been the magic number for a few of us on here.

Wheel spacers to fix the rubbing on the frame? You'll likely start rubbing on the fender liner then.

I rub only on the frame full lock to the left.

I ordered the below because they are hubcentric, very popular spacer for current Tacoma gen. Tons of YouTube videos about them. I also ordered the below lugs for more bite as recommended from another user.

Fender liner and pinch welds have been cut and folded back. It’s not pretty or factory but it works. I even had to cut because the new UCA after my alignment or once the Suspension settled. It was making contact

these are some quick parking lot fixes. It’s the only photos I had

Referring to the fender liner on the driver's footwell at the pinch weld / mud flap region. Adding wheel spacers pushes the scrub radius of the tire out and will make it travel closer towards this area.

I rather have the tires rub on plastic that I can cut back than on my frame.

    @jerryallday

You get you spacers in yet?

curious about the lugs you linked above, I thought those were only needed if running the 1.5 spidertraxs?

I've got the deepshank lug nuts on my spacers, short studs on these Tundras. A normal lug won't engage enough threads on the stud. The deepshank reach down farther in the mounting hole to engage more threads. Then my wheels use a washer style flat surface lug. The spacers have longer studs on them, did not require deep shank on them.

Let us know how that goes. If it's not rubbing there now, be curious to see how much rubbing, if any, adding the spacers causes. I have 265/75/16's on 16x8 with 1.25" spacers and they rubbed the flaps even with 2.25" of front lift. Had to do some mild trimming of the plastic, but no pinch weld modding. Still get a little rub with the appropriate articulation and steering angle in reverse. Zero rubbing there without the spacers.
