My name is Tyler and I am the creator of Valhalla’s Shield. I make catalytic converter theft deterrent plates that can also be used as skid plates in the thicker version. I currently only make these for the 2007+ Tundra and 2008+ Sequoia.

These plates will not fit a lift bigger than 4” lift like the Readylift. The aftermarket subframe lifts will not fit the standard plate. I do however make a plate that fits the Procomp and Readylift. I would ask for verification for fitment.

For purely theft deterrent purposes 1/8 steel and 3/16 aluminum for the bill. For those that want these as a skid plate aswell, I recommend 3/16 steel or 1/4 aluminum.

The standard plate will fit a TRD PRO factory skid plate, it is a tight fit getting a tool or hand in there to hold the nut while tightening the bolts thought.

To be clear, I make a Front catalytic converter plate/transmission plate and a rear catalytic converter/transfer case plate.

    https://valhallasshields.com/

Below is all pricing for my plates shipped. If you are local to Houston, I can give you a reduced rate without shipping.

    Transmission/front cat plate
The steel plates come with all hardware to install
    Bare steel
    1/8 $275
    3/16 $350

    Powder coated black
    1/8 $325
    3/16 $400

Aluminum is bare metal but comes with the hardware to install
    3/16 $350
    1/4 $400

    Transfer case/rear cat plate
    Bare steel
    1/8 steel $225
    3/16 steel $275

    Powder coated black
    1/8 steel $275
    3/16 steel $350

    3/16 aluminum $300
    1/4” aluminum $350

The front skid plate is almost ready for production
Hardware used (for seeking security hardware)
    5/8x4 (2)
    3/8x4 (2)
    1/2x1.75 (2)
    3/4x1.75 (2)

Also requested the weights of the plates. I will fill this in more in the near future
1/8 steel front cat plate 40 lbs
3/16 steel front cat plate 60 lbs
3/16 aluminum front cat plate 19 pounds
1/4 aluminum front cat plate 30 pounds
    rear cat plate weights
    1/8 steel 22 lbs
    3/16 steel 33 lbs
    3/16 aluminum 12 lbs
    1/4 aluminum 16 lbs

Looks great, Tyler. Would you mind posting the weights for the plates? Also, do thieves tend to steal the front or rear or both cats?
    Thanks!

I will add weights to the main post tomorrow. Thieves take what ever they can... This is the best info I have found so far, large Japanese trucks and SUV’s are a main target because the catalytic converters are worth more, the tundras and sequoias are even more of a target because we are lucky enough to have 4 instead of the normal 2

I been talking with Tyler about using security bolts. The larger front ones are almost impossible to find without paying a fortune they are 5/8. The rear 3/8 x 4" is possible from McMaster's or other hardware stores. Just fill it with silicone in the head for full deterrence.

If you have the TRD front skid like me, you can get security bolts for the rear crossmember area, which are smaller bolts than Tyler's and since his plate fits under the TRD, it should work well. If you use the TRD plate, you wont need to use the 5/8. I am also planning on using security bolts on the TRD instead of stock hardware so with the combination of all that, I dont think there is much more you can reasonably do.

Just looking out Tyler, I know your swamped. Correct me if I missed anything. I will try to do an install clip with the TRD plate when I get my plates.

Ordered mine a few days ago - can't wait to see that ship notice or whatever arrives!

Went with aluminum. More costly, but significantly lighter. Gets the job done without lowering my payload even further.

If I want to crawl - I've got my CJ for that.

Do you know how well your skids pair up with the front RCI skid?

This is a common question, and I don’t have an answer, I would need to know where the RCI bolts up

Can we get a cost for the plates via PayPal without the Friends & Family request? I would like to purchase the set but I don't send F&F Paypal payments for large purchases.

I have the RCI skids on my truck and would be interested in adding cat protection. If you ever make it up near DFW, let me know and you’re welcome to measure whatever you want on the truck.

If there is anyway someone could send me pictures of where the RCI skid plate meets the cross member between the oil pan and the transmission pan to show which holes are used, I could answer this question pretty quickly

How are the rear transfer case plates attached? It looks like just the two slots that appear to go between the main cat plate and the second crossmember.

There is a horizontal bracket that connects to the frame rails. You can see it in the 3rd pic from the top in OPs original post.

Just my opinion I have done a lot of mods over the years on my Tacoma and now my 4runner and soon to be my Tundra. What really helped me was watching all these YouTube video installs. Hopefully someone will post the install to the front and rear.

Another option for people looking for extra security, since its hard to find good security bolts, is to use a standard bolt, but use a breakaway nut.
