Been wanting this awhile. Pulled the trigger last night after a couple beers urged me into it. 71718DEA-64B3-458A-9100-F54D7387EEDB.jpg4FD3C9DA-E330-487C-9606-EAF0D905EB43.jpg

Found one of these on Craigslist for $150. It has been rode hard and put away wet, but I have the time and the paitence to clean it up. It is an older one so it is a little better made than the newer models.

Doing a poor man's "big brake" conversion on my R53 (Mini Cooper). Rebuilding these 60k front R56 calipers and have stainless lines on the way. Stoptech rotors and sport pads all around. Little late on the prep for Autocross season, but I should make it.

Nice. I want to figure out a way to adapt that to work with my TCUSA rails. I will have to custom make the base plate, or come up with some sort of shim. But I haven't been able to see one in person to really get good measurements or compare.

Gazelle T4 tent! I’ve been shopping used roof top tents for a while, but for 2 adults and 2 kids this is really hard to beat! I found it on Facebook marketplace BNIB, and the seller showed up in a quicksand 3rd gen tundra lifted on methods and 35’s, and with an RSI smartcap and an Alucab hard shell tent. I had rig envy for sure!

The link is just below the pic. I called to have them price match, as supply house had better reviews. Yes I will be installing myself. I'll get it mounted and venting done, then do the cut over with water after.

It's the wife and I, so the size is appropriate. It was $646 shipped to the door. Considering what a tank is now, I didn't think it was bad. I'll probably have another $100 into the install, but in the future (if needed) it will be a quick swap for a new one.

    do some home work first..

check your gas meter size & underground supply lines before you commit to a purchase.
on demand water heaters have a hefty draw ... usually around 120,00 BTU's

these require a newer 425 meter.
the piping from the street usually needs to be upgraded by the gas company to supply enough gas for the 425 meter. the typical 5/8 buried line is not enough.

A Propane model & tank is another viable option.

    as with any remodel ...
get a permit (easy & cheap insurance) so it can be inspected, so no one can point fingers at you if your house burns down.

I’ve had a Rinnai in my house since shortly after we built 15 years ago. Originally installed a Bosch, but it didn’t work very well so we got our money back and switched to the Rinnai. I’ll never not have tankless again.

But, as @Slayer said, check your gas lines. We have propane at our house, and I had to specifically size the line and regulator to handle the 110,000 BTUs. For me, it meant a 1” line running from the regulator at the house exterior to the actual water heater with no flex lines in that run (it is at the opposite end of the house).

I also have my hot water in a recirculating loop to reduce the “cold water sandwich” you get when doing on-off-on things like washing/rinsing dishes. You just have to be sure if you do that, you DONT run the recirculation through the tankless heater or it will be running all the time (they trigger on flow through the heater).
