My truck is showroom quality compared to this. It may look straight but there’s paint sprayed in the key holes and visible bondo everywhere. See my above post about the title and visible flood damage.

I do wish I could just cut the roof off and transplant this beautiful bitch onto mine. I’m so jealous of you sunroof guys now.

Ive got two drywall screws in the passenger fender flare I’d take $3 for.

Dont try to haggle either. They’ve got fresh paint.

I know someone transplanted a cloth 'sunroof' onto an early SAAB from a donor. i think you could do it. Likely easier than you think.

God that terrifies me. I may tear the headliner out and give it a peek though at some point.

I may have to get some custom “Limited-*” badges made after this.

It’s spot welds on the double cab trucks.. actually super easy for a body man to swap a roof

No, no - not you. The body shop. The body man swaps the roof, keeps the carcass & makes a couple bucks off the parts.
It's hard to be rid of the body after you part it out & it's no longer rolling.

Bah. Scrap the body, rip what is good off it and you’ll make your money back and some. I disassemble trucks like that ON the trailer so I don’t have to move it somehow, then the scraper will pick it up with a forklift

Ehh it’s not really gonna get to that point. I don’t want the truck in my driveway for more than maybe a month or two.

I’ve talked to the pick a part and they said they will come out to appraise it and flatbed it off if I’d like. Of course, I’d get more by parting it out but I don’t have the room or patience for anymore clutter around my garage.

You change the ride height at all? We just kinda threw them in and didnt adjust level. My driver side is higher then my passenger by a small amount but enough that the alignment guy said something about it.

I left the Kings at factory 2.5" and gained a 1/2" lift. I cant say how much it is above stock on my 2005 DC 2WD, because I was already leveled, give or take. But the side by side image of the strut assembly vs King coilover, unloaded, shows more King height and more pre-load on the struts. All I can say is the truck is a different truck. The Bilsteins sets are great and out of stock nationwide. I'm not one to wait, so I went with King 2.5. Honestly, if I could start over, I would drop 3K+ and get a King or Fox 4 corner set up. Probably in extended travel. And that would be more than I currently could use. But its a great value, considering....

I should add, after reading again, my truck was right on as far as right to left level. The Kings come with Right and Left assemblies. They are tagged and marked. I did not count threads, but if I remember, I'm about 1/4 different side to side. Lower on passenger, but I have 1/4 tank and was not in the truck. I think my weight and fuel would change that slightly.

I might add, if your alignment guy notices a slight difference, maybe keep him. Attention to detail is hard to find. Ask him about fuel and body weight.

I can't remember if I shared this but you might appreciate it. I think he's pretty well known among drummers(older ones at least)

Denny Carmassi is my uncle. He played for a bunch of bands. Montrose, Whitesnake, Heart and a few others I think.

What’s the going consensus on CV’s?

Obviously I would like OEM but I pulled the dust caps off the donor at lunch and the passenger side is missing the castle nut so I assume that one, maybe both are aftermarket. The inner passenger boot is toast so at minimum I need to reboot it.

It would just seem silly to me to throw a $70 OEM boot kit at a $99 O’Reillys axle. Also $800 for new OEM are just a little out of the question right now.

Im sure someone has gone over this and usually I retain things that apply to me but up until Saturday, I had no need for CV knowledge. :D

Do either of them have a pink/purple sticker like this? That's a sign they are OEM and might be worth saving.

Also, weren't you the one letting everyone tag team your bushing tool?

I have been waiting over two months for a new complete CV assembly from Toyota. According to the parts manager, they are on national back order, there are none available in the US, and Toyota hasn't ramped up production yet.
