I think that would be fine, but don't think you need the impact or deep for that matter. Glad you posted that link, because that Tekton is the brand Torque wrench you want in 1/2" drive. Great tool, warranty, customer service and price. Always be sure to loosen the torque wrench to zero when not in use. You don't want to wear the spring out inside.

Get the Tekton # 24340. It's the 25-250 ft lbs version.

    Well good luck @geno0506 !

I have no experience doing suspension on trucks so I can't help, but I'm sure you can get it done!

One thing I learned with doing a new project for the first time, expect that it will take you longer than expected, that way you don't have to rush and get frustrated with it taking a while.

sometimes the local tire shop could do it for you especially if you getting an alignment with them after.
They have the tools and lift or any mechanic from the local dealership on the side.

Do it! You're retired so you have the time and you're on here which means you can ask questions and learn something new along the way. I have done all my own installs with no prior experience. Sometimes the learning curve is a bitch, but you can't beat the satisfaction of doing it yourself!

FWIW....I had never rebuilt a Harley engine until I did it. Complete rebuild including gear drive cams, all new bearings, pistons, jugs, heads, exhaust......and the magical thing was...it CRANKED on the first try! Still running strong today! Moral of the story?? Just do it!

Look at it this way...except for the torque values, it's essentially "unbolt old parts, remove and re-bolt new parts." Be sure to brace everything so the truck won't fall on you..... use jack stands and don't rely on bottle jacks to hold. Do one wheel well at a time. Take pictures along the way as you disassemble so you have something to refer back to if you get stumped on the re-install. If you have the space, place the parts/bolts/nuts on the floor in the same pattern they came off so you have a visual reference too. Take your time and enjoy the job. Oh, and make sure you use a good torque wrench and follow the specifications. I didn't one time on another DIY job on the bike, and my "FEEL" for how tight the bolt was supposed to be was a little too strong...needless to say, there was a SNAP involved and a few weeks' delay while I waited for the specialty banjo-bolt to come in.

When you get done, post your pictures and/or video so we can all enjoy! Best of luck to ya!

    Hello all,

I stopped by this place today http://ameraguardsa.com/contact.html after looking up the reviews it seemed pretty legit.

    Screen Shot 2017-04-05 at 5.34.54 PM.jpg

I brought in my assembled 6112's and the SPC UCA's and they Tech said the UCA was the hardest part being something about a long bolt having to pull towards the radiator!

The funny thing was the manager was the same guy that helped me get my Tacoma lift at a speed shop in San Antonio the same one I called yesterday and said they couldn't because I didnt buy from them and he was telling me he was much happier at the shop he's at now!

Anyway, they quoted me for the UCA's, 6112's and the differential drop kit installed it would be a 4 hour job and said they charge $95 an hour then after he gave me a military discount it came to $75 an hour and OTD would be $300.00!

The only thing is I would have to take it to a alignment shop after!

That sound pretty fair to me and after they said they stand behind there work it sounded better, what do you think! It seems it would give me a piece of mind being that's a big task!

I decided I could dot the rear 5160's, CB shackles and bearing drop kit myself and that would give me a good bounding with my Tundra.

    what do you all think!

Thanks so much for all the help!

    Michael

Looks like you have almost all the tools you need except you would need the 25-250 torque wrench. If you don't feel completely comfortable tackling it yourself, $300 seems very fair.

Just clicked on the link you posted and one of the services they offer is lift kits, so I would have complete confidence in that shop. Just get that alignment done ASAP......

    Thanks Lenny!

I think I will feel a peace of mind for a pro to do the 6112 and SPC UCA install, I'de hate to do it and end up on the highway sparking on riding on front break's, lol!

I will use the tools for the Shackles, rear shock and bearing drop would the tools I have work or would I still need a 250lb torque wrench or the 150lb I have work!

Doing the rear will give me a good bonding with the truck, sad but that sounds a little dirty, lol

    Thanks again!

I haven't done much in the rear as far as shackles, but almost certain you will be fine with the 150. Think it's the front that needs the big boy 250.....

If you do it yourself, half way through you're going to wish you just paid the $300, especially with the UCA's. Just get 'er done and do the rears yourself.

Washers are for the bump stops. They just unscrew w some channel lock pliers.

Yup. CM Lenny told me what they're for. Dealership chucked mine. I just stacked a couple fender washers instead. Super easy

That's funny Lenny. The brown truck delivered a 1/2" Tekton yesterday! Great knowing it's @CM-LENNY approved! Thanks for the pro tip about zeroing it out too.

    Thanks buddy,

So there is 2 bump stops on the pax side and 2 on the drivers side correct and is it a fairly easy thing if I do myself incase they dont.

Is that like the people talk about when they buy the bigger bump stops like these and would these be better then just adding washers provided by bilstein
