Hey guys still sorting out all the issues with the recent purchase. Found out I'm missing a rear shock and no mounting points to be found.. is there a replacement for this?

Took this truck to the dealership... this truck was in indiana... cold weather state... it has an open case for the corrosion frame recall... so they are working with cooperate and the toyota rep to address the recall.. it is in washington state which is not cold weather but the birth of selling was in cold weather state... cross my fingers on an OK outcome..

That would be fantastic if they can pull this under the Recall umbrella..

    Keep us posted...

That cross member is right where I had a big hole in my frame as well. They should replace it.

UPDATE!! Local dealership is replacing my frame!!!!!!! Pulling the cab and drive train.. i'm sending them the 3" lift kit for a free install and LBJ too. I want to do some headers since the cast iron ones "sound" like they are leaking... any recommendations? want to keep the cost low.. used is fine.. I'm so happy with toyota. been a nissan fan boy for 20 years... great service!

Are they offering to install headers for free? I thought they would only do that with parts they had to remove anyways. Maybe they will give you a discount if the engine is out.

I replied to your other thread with some reading for you.

Good luck with the frame. My 03 has been at a dealership in Muncie IN since 1-11-21. They have NO repair schedule. Toyota has provided me with a 'loaner ' truck,2020 Dodge Laramie 4x4 which is a pretty truck but quite the wussy. I have contacted the Toyota complaint site, customer experience. I have also contacted the recall people that sent me here. Believe me it is a huge runaround .March 5th I escalated my complaint up to the national highway and traffic safety administration.

They provide loaner "car". What burns me I took it in for a airbag recall. Service tech advised me of the frame recall. Inspected it and found rust damage. Would not let me have my truck back, " by law we have to keep your truck, you can't have it back until fixed ". I am very interested on the rest of your journey.
