I saw this site you sent me. It is intriguing. I thought about modifying carriage bolts so you could put a box end wrench on it, but the bolt would rust then, and I hate stainless bolts

Once I get vendor status, I will make a thread in there and line out everything that should take most of the questions out of it. Not to make y’all not feel special, but I ask all of you pretty much the same questions, except hugemoose, he made my day

Not a good idea, you will spend a fortune on legal fees. New cc's much cheaper. Now if you can just follow em and find them in a situation where you can even the score, then you just might settle up. However, be very careful, hard to get away with much nowadays. Too much technology available is not always a good thing. Best option pay insurance and harden targets. If they are coming through a window or door into your home, definately make sure they are dead, then shoot em a few more times!

Yeah as a gun owner I would never shoot somebody trying to steal my cats. Unless they are threatening my actual life or my family's life, I'm not going to jail over some scrap metal.

Also I tend to sleep at night, when most thieves are active lol

Bad news, if I don’t have your plates from a previous batch, you will have to wait, there was a scaling issue with the plasma program and all the transmission/front cat plates were cut wrong. We are working to fix this ASAP, but it might push delivery a week

I need to go through my lists and see who it will and won’t effect. Long story short, we killed $2100 in metal, but we are already making plans on how to fix it as fast as we can with cutting new plates

I probably missed it some where in the post. How are these plates preventing from the cats getting stolen. These plates are bolted on correct?

Bolted on, with security hardware, also the front bolts are a pin in the ass to get to the backing nuts after the skid in installed and a front skid that extends back to that mounting point, the DE is made of 9/64fs plate steel aka 10 ga, you want to cut to gain access to the front cats you are going to be there a while, bring a lunch.

The plates are a deterrent, your average cat scum thief will move on when they see the plate

Thanks Rich!! I was figuring there had be something but I wanted someone to explain it. Thanks Again. Now and see if I can get a set before my tundra pro comes in. So I assume there not hard to put on and you don’t have to remove them for any reason.

They bolt on, but security bolts can be installed to make it take longer for the thief to remove. Would turn a 20 second job into a 20 min job without the right security tool.

The DE skid comes with those. The problem is that you can get the tips everywhere. You could always fill the bolt heads with some sore of material after install. I might even put more bolts in mine.

Well if you want to or ever need to service your transmission or parts located in that area, then ya you will have to remove it

I had my dealership install it, even had the plate shipped to them since they are considering stocking them since all of the tundras on their lot got hit. I think the tech is still cussing me for that one LOL... he said it was a bitch getting the front back up nuts back on for both the trd plate and the DE plate.
He drilled holes for the mounting bolts to go thru for both plates vs cutting a slot in the de plate

Fill them with silicone. And mix the bolts with those and asymmetrical heads. It's all about increasing time.

Hit up this site. Mix and match.
    https://www.losspreventionfasteners.com/tamperproof-security-bolts/

They run out there car with a saw, they dont bring a bit set and a screw driver combo. If they have time to sit there with a bit set and a beer, you were screwed no matter what.

When they stole the cats off my company's delivery truck one weekend, the security camera recorded the theif wearing a safety vest and even brought a safety cone. Looked like he was legitimately there to do work in broad daylight.

Have you ordered anything from there? Seems like it’s more for major commercial applications. These would be awesome, but “tools sold to authorized personnel only”. 7443BF08-4797-4776-A8CA-3147F7D5E88E.jpg

I got a crazy idea. Why not take a nice long piece of aluminum tubing, paint it red and wrap it around the cat and pipes? It'll be fairly easy to wrap since it's aluminum. You could hide the ends somewhere out of site. No one will want to mess with something painted red if they don't know what is.
It's a cheap theft deterrent that shouldn't cost more than $20 make.
