I finally had the time, energy, and decent weather to get the ham gear installed. I removed the underseat storage box, there's a lot more room now. The original clunky box took up a lot of space. All of the gear is mounted on a removable board under the passenger side rear seat. My original plan to put it under the driver's seat didn't work out. Power wires were run through the rubber grommet in the driver's side firewall and under the interior rocker panels. They're quite roomy. I also downsized my plans to 10 gauge wire since I'm not installing the HF rig. Wires for audio, the remote head, and the microphone were run under the carpet. FYI, the underside of the carpet is quite sharp. My knuckles are skinned from the abrasion.

This is the gear. A dual band ICOM, a dual band HT for APRS, and a big capacitor to make sure the power is smoothed out. All are fed through a distribution block and Anderson Power Poles.

This is the antenna mount. It's made from a brass kick plate and is bolted to a unistrut rail. There's one on each side. One for the dual bander, the other for APRS.

This is the remote head. For those interested, it's an ICOM 208H. Long out of production, but still a nice little workhorse.

I haven't decided where the microphone will live, I'll put the hanger in later. I'll also be tidying up the wiring as I go, but that's for another sunny day.

Tried to install led dome/map lights. Screwed up the metal plates - blew a fuse - broke the cover.

Calling the dealer to have it repaired.

    No more mods - I'm done ✅

Your not alone DalTee, I damaged my map lights also. The brass connections are vary delicate. My suggestion is to do a search for used parts for your year Tundra. I located the same overhd console for my 08 for $70. Haven't purchased yet, need to find out if the Bluetooth console is compatible with mine. Just a suggestion. You know how expensive dealerships can be, and forget about a new one $500 plus.
    Hope this helps

So finally got a break from these 12 hour days, and have a little down time to start my little project. I've searched here and everywhere for anyone that has utilized the molding strip above our grill.

PureTundra is the only Tundra I've seen with a light bar on the grill. Im not saying there not, just haven't seen anything. With that said I'm fabricating a light bar for installation into the molding strip. This will be similar to the 3rd gens with the light bar in the hood bulge. So finished light bar this morning and now have to make cut in molding.
