Good morning All, new to this... I bought a stillen cai for my 2015 tundra, had it installed n worked great, but I guess I was hoping for a throaty sound but it won’t give it to you since the box is enclosed. I took off the lid to the box n I have a mean throaty sound to it now, but I’m wondering if that’ll affect anything else ?? I hope my question makes some sense, thanks guys.

Probably will get some heat soak that wont help things. Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Check out @dirtydeeds An exhaust with the Stillen should really wake things up

Also, one thing I noticed was that it gave me some type of delay or more like it bogged down when I gave it gas.

Welcome from Colorado. By the way........your Tunny already had a cold air intake. Aftermarket CAI's are a waste of $ IMHO.

Anyway, I think imma end up throwing the lid on the CAI back on, I feel it ran smoother with it on. Although the sound is awesome with it off, lol!

Don't sweat it. A few members here have the Stillen with no issues. Not bad for an aftermarket CAI. More air is always good but don't expect any miraculous hp and mpg changes. If you want sound and decent performance increase...................... see @dirtydeeds

Back in the day, we used to flip the metal air cleaners lids over leaving a gap that gave more air and a great sound for our V/8's. The original CAI, that cost absolutely nothing, and did absolutely nothing but make more noise. :)

You want the lowest temp possible for the air going into your engine. Warmer air will continue to decrease engine performance. Engines like cold air, hence Cold Air Intake.

The Stillen is a very good CAI and probably the only one that is worthwhile getting if you really want to replace the stock CAI. There is a great thread on here about it.

    Heres the thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/stillen-trupower-stage-2-cold-air-intake.69529/

You definitely should get an aftermarket exhaust. Dirty Deeds is the gold standard here. I have the Corsa 24916 and I like it alot. https://www.corsaperformance.com/products/3-0-cat-back-24916
