I wish it was that price, there was just about a quarter of a tank left.

I figured you had your own refinery in the back yard or something.

I was surprised the dealer filled the 38 gallon tank when I bought mine on Thursday.

What I find most perplexing on this topic is that when I took delivery of my new 2017 and started the truck still on the dealer lot for the first time the range to empty showed 600 miles. The first time I filled it up and every time since it shows about 480 miles to empty.

I also got a full tank. The sales lady took me to the gas station across the road and pretended like she is making a special exception for me (LOL) but it was nice of her to do it. She did it on the dealer's account of course, not out of her own pocket.

When my LunaRock Pro comes in my dealer better fill it or I’m not buying it. Lol. That’s the least they can do buying a new vehicle.

Ignore the dusty dash; I do. :p

Got the truck up to temp on previous errands, but this is pretty typical if I keep it under 75. Even mashing the pedal a bit to enjoy the exhaust.

I only get 408 miles to a tank. Same as I got with my Titan in a much smaller tank.

I thought my truck had the 38 gallon tank but I ran my tank down to 50 until E and filled up and only got 28.32 gallons in. Could I still have the 38 gallon tank and just have a lot in reserve?

That’s normal on these trucks. If you drive til it says 0 miles remaining it should take around 30 gallons. The footprint on these tanks is huge so 5-8 gallons spreads pretty thin.

The only two options are a 26.4 gal. and a 38, so yes you have the 38 which has a rather large reserve before empty.

I’ve run my tank empty.... like stalled in the middle of the highway empty!!! In my experience, the low fuel light comes on at around 6 to high 7ish gallons left in the tank. I can easily go 100 miles after the light comes on (not towing).

background info: I take annual trips out west from Chicago with wife, 2 children, and a 7500 trailer. On each outgoing and return drive, I’ll fill my 38 gallon tank 3 times driving all day. That’s on top of the gas that’s in the tank even before starting the trip. (Towing gives me <8 mpg. It’s especially awful going up the Rockys incline and dealing with the elevation gains.)

Also, driving your tank dry will damage/overheat your fuel tank. Don’t be like me.

Check out my Fuelly stats for real exact mpg figures.

Final note, even with a 38 gallon tank, it’s annoying how frequently I have to fill up. I panic just thinking about how much worse it would be with a 26 gallon.

Got a gas class a motorhome last year and so the tundra stays home over the summer. I get the same mpgs as the tundra when towing. But luckily I got an 80 gal tank now! :D

I ran mine 2019 SR5 TRD OFFROAD DC until it said 0 (zero) miles left, the light was on for several miles and then filled up.
It took just over 35 gallons. Now I have an idea just how far I cannot go after the light comes on.

    First fill up today.
Truck said 50 miles to empty had gone 400.
took 29 gallons, so I got 13.8 MPG pretty happy with that, my F250 got 10 MPG and the Tacoma I traded got a gutless 18 MPG, I will happily trade 4 MPG for the 5.7 Tundra.

And below a picture well because all post need pictures, this one is for all the forum members in Colorado, be safe.

I think my oil pressure is usually a little higher when the truck is cold. I haven't noticed any fluctuation but I also don't stare at the dash while accelerating.

Funny, we had to fill up my Tundra in order to do the test drive, one only other test drive after mine before we bought it, so essentially got a full tank. My trade-in came in on fume to them though...

I rode with the sales manager to fill up my new truck. He put 33.5 gallons in and said look that’s the first and last time you’ll ever see the range over 600 miles.

Disconnect your battery for a while and that range meter will reset.

the oil pressure in my firebird stays high when first started, but then when warm drops and idle and moves up with rpm.
you might want to replace the sending unit, in your iroc, should be a simple change, but might need a special socket.

New record for me, I got 33.75 gallons into the 38 gal tank! It took lots of will power to drive the last 35 miles after the DTE number disappeared.

Every time I'm at a low where I could really test the capacity, I get a station that cuts me off at $75, so I give up and take what I get. I was at almost 32 gallons when I got stopped today.
