Ads is local to me, on Friday we were eating at this “pizza joint” and I kept seeing people w ads shirts and hats and arm bands and sweatshirts come in. I was tempted to ask for some swag. But it looked like a Friday company lunch action, probably a cool place to work, I hope they looked at me and thought the same thing......

    Yes, agreed completely.

    If I didn't drive in deer country, I'd own a 2000-ish camry.

My uncle Doug will get a NEW 2500HD GMC every three years because he was mailed a letter for a $2,000 mail in rebate on truck purchase. He's a farmer, but does all his towing with a day cab semi truck or tractor.

Dealership rolls his previous balance onto new truck owed amount. He's got $150k in truck debt on a $50k truck. Forever payment.

He has two masters degrees in business, yet is swimming in debt up to his nostrils. They live high on the hog, but I've seen their bank statements. They are as rich as a teenager working at McDonald's.

I'm no genius, I'm from KY too. Even I can do that 4th grade level math.

even though my moms mechanic misses some small details, I feel they are pretty honest with her. He tells her stuff that can wait or that needs to be looked at the next time. I’ll milk the TB cleaning for a while, I told her it’s only something a son would know to do!

@FrenchToasty They were cool as could be on the phone. Called em looking for coil overs after a place told me I was looking at 6-8 weeks to get a set. They were like uhhh were looking at a set on the shelf.

I know that cars/trucks never increase in value, despite old tacomas and tundras increasing in used prices; and while I could get a new truck the older ones are much easier to work on, and where I take mine, I would wince every time I scratched a $40k truck.

Naw, it's just tooley hill on topographical maps.

I'm not sure why it's called that.

Edit: I'm sure it's some old world thing from before my parents or grandparents were born.

How do you get stuck in a Jeep Grand Cherokee? I thought those things had AWD with limited slip in both front and rear diffs? I guess not....

There's a few different systems on those. Pretty much AWD, AWD with low range, and AWD with center/front/rear limited slip.

I got quoted $400-500 by a couple shops, but ended up paying a little more to fix some fiberglass spots that were delaminating from age and sun.

I sprayed mine with a $15 harbor freight gun. Picked up a color matched quart and some 2k clear from a local paint supply for $110.

Honestly if you don’t have a ton of clear peeling or any serious damage to it, it would just be a scuff and paint which anyone with a garage and an air compressor should be able to do.

Btw this was my first time ever painting anything.

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
Guys I figured out why I couldn't get the crank pulley to turn after reinstalling the rebuilt engine. I am 95% sure my buddy and I installed the torque converter incorrectly. While I believe you're supposed to turn it a few clicks until it seats inside the transmission, we just placed it on the shaft, which made everything so tight that the driveplate won't turn after bolting the bell housing to the engine. We are taking the engine back out tomorrow to check for damage and reseat the TC. Neither of us knew and the FSM didn't say to do this.

Snagged a roof rack for the shell off of a first gen Ford Escape for $25 at my local pick a part. I should be able to get it mounted up tomorrow.
