Shipping label said 42lbs so minus the box and plastic maybe around 38-40lbs? It is lighter than I thought it would be. I figure the plastic one I took off is a few lbs so the net gain is in the 35lb range. Not bad at all...

Looks good! I'm on a 4/2 on 34's on mine. Now I'm spending money on cat protection due to all of the thieves.

Has anyone here done the conversion to power folding mirrors via the KTJO harness? I am shopping towing mirrors and I am thinking that I might as well add power folding when I do so since it's only an extra few hundred bucks.

Harness and switch kit: Toyota OEM Power Folding Mirror "LOWER ILLUMINATED" Switch | KTJO 4x4

Harness details: Tundra Folding Mirror 2014+ | KTJO 4x4

Mirrors: Toyota Tundra 2007-2021 Power Folding Tow Mirrors Smoked LED DRL | A1287825221 - TopGearAutosport

This seems like a clean way to get what I want, and yet add power folding for those times I need it. I prefer not to have to do much custom wiring except for maybe the led rear facing guidance lights if I choose to use them. Casey, @RainMan_PNW Any thoughts on going this route?

I'm leery of the KJTO setup. Digging through a few threads on here, there seems to be more questions than answers on some of the stuff they have for sale for the Tundras, and the website leaves a lot to be desired for clarity. I've reached out using the "Contact us" no less than three times inquiring about the "fully illuminated" mirror switch availability and received ZERO response. There is another user on here that was sold the fully illuminated switch and a harness and told it would work on his Platinum, but there's no way it will work. The Platinum and 1794 use an 8-pin switch that sends all of the signals on mirror control via the CANBUS system, so without him trying to build his own ECU (which it sounds like he's capable of) to take signal from the KJTO switch and send it to his truck's mirror ECUs. In reviewing the wiring pin-outs on the stuff he has posted, it has left me questioning a few things in how their button is set up (part of this is because of my familiarity with the 2007-2013 power fold mirror setup and comparing it to the 2014+ power fold mirror setup). And I don't know exactly where KJTO are getting the "lower illuminated" switches or what color the buttons will be, but I just feel like it's hacked together (and if anyone's going to be hacking on my truck, it'll be ME).

Also know that the harness you are buying from KJTO will only take your existing 10-pin plug and adapt it to connect to the 28-pin plug they send you, plus using an "add-a-fuse" to send illumination power to it (which can be done more elegantly). It does not include provisions to send power to your mirrors to fold them, unless you have a Gen 2 Limited truck that already has power-fold wiring installed (or you route your own). KJTO does have another kit they offer for "auto-fold" mirrors, but sounds like those that have tried to make that work have not had good luck and ended up falling back to only power-fold (not auto).

I'm waiting for my mirror caps to be done at the paint shop to start my install, and I will be doing a full write-up in my build thread when I do them. I can tell you that buying the power folding mirror switch from the Gen 2 trucks and adding the wires to power the folding motors won't be that hard. If you want it to look clean, you'll have to buy a few terminal pins and learn how to put them into the existing connectors. If you want it to look nearly the same as factory, it will involve just a few more terminals and hitting a few more connectors to actually using the junction connectors in the kick panels. If I end up stumbling across an illuminated mirror switch that ISN'T GREEN, I may try down the road to make it work, but for now, I'm OK with not having it lit up to at least know it's not hacked....

Hmm, I thought that the second link I posted was the harness to add the power to the actual mirrors and the first link was the switch. Which they do claim to offer in Tundra blue. (Out of stock soooo.) I agree that I'm not thrilled with their website and item descriptions. I tried the contact us as well good to know that I should not hold my breath waiting for an answer.

    Side note, rant on:

I hate it when manufacturers hide certain features in trim levels you may not want to buy. I didn't want a 1794, limited or premium, I like the monochrome look with the black grill, I like the TRD wheels much better to. I wanted a TRD-OR or a TRD Pro. However, I would have wanted power folding mirrors, the upgraded JBL 12 speaker stereo, auto up/down windows, power sliding rear window. This is not a Toyota Specific complaint. I have the same issue with Subaru. I could not get the premium sound system in the Outback Onyx XT or any other XT (Turbo) without buying the Limited or Touring trims which ditch all of the monochrome, blacked out grill and wheels, has tons of chrome on it and are available with leather only.

    Rant off:

Yep - I get it. There's also the fact that over time, Toyota has actually removed certain features from the different trims and configurations. In the early Gen 2, you could get JBL audio in a Double Cab with a sub in the back. Now, everyone will tell you that the JBL system sucks and get an aftermarket, but I'm not that much of a car audio freak, and my kids loved sitting in the back seat with the bass turned up in my 2008. The Gen 2 Limited trim also had power-folding mirrors, and the 2007-2009 Limited (before Platinum was a Trim level) had an OPTION for memory but non-memory units were essentially the same as the SR5 but with some extra wiring and leather seats. Of course, Rock Warrior was the only way to not have chrome, and Auto Up/Down wasn't an option at all (I think the driver's window had Auto Down). In 2010 they added the power-slide DC window in Limited Trims, and I thought in '14 they made it standard in all trims but then removed it here just in the past couple years (I could be wrong).

And yeah - had to do a similar thing with my wife's Forester as well.

I don't have the plastic skid on my SR5. So I would need the strap kit that they sell as well?

Correct. 77601-0C090, 77601-0C100, and 77602-0C120 are the Toyota part numbers for the straps with the studs. Alternatively you could buy a frame mounted skid like Victory 4x4 sells.

I'm replying in hopes the DC power-slide window is true. I've asked Roman this once before but from my little research it was an option in Canadia but this is going off memory (and I'm a couple two tree beers deep). I'd love a power sliding rear winder. If it was a 2nd gen option us DC guys may have some hope in bring ourselves forward (backward) to the last decade.

My 2013 DC SR5 had the power window. My 2020 does not. I don't know why they took it out and went back to manual.
