Does the back of the transfer case skid plate use existing holes in the frame to attach?

That is not a problem at all. What would be the price and availability time to get that extension piece? Thanks.

Are these the prices for the whole setup? I just need the circled piece that extends past the crossmember.

Copy that....let me go look at my truck real quick. Your rear plate may be bigger than it looks from the picture. How far back does it go from the crossmember?

They are available to order now, steel takes a bit due to powder coat, but I can ship them bare metal at a discount, aluminum gets cut cleaned and bent and it is ready

Yep, like @RLHOK said, it looks the same. Maybe they are cats but they aren't quite as "intense" as the ones in the front so they don't have all of the good shit in them... I just read that the front cats on a Tundra can get up to $250 each but the average scrapping price is $100. That's not bad for a few minutes of sawing. I should have scrapped mine and used the money to buy an installed plate.

It looks like you just have drill the holes to fit the plate under the Pro skid plate. I'm going to start installing mine tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

Please do. I am anxious to get this resolved. Sadly, it sounds as though the RCI skidplate will have to be removed and sold as scrap. I don’t think anyone would want it now A763DA02-9832-45E1-86D8-010263EF2F10.jpg

@gosolo, the DE plate should work for the Pro engine skid or the RCI skid. From what I've read, there is no difference under the truck in this location between the pro and non pro models. I have mine installed with the RCI skid and just had to make 2 holes/slots. You can make adjustments to use both sets of fasteners or just one where it transitions from the engine to the CAT/transmission skid.

I sold my RCI transmission skid to a guy that wanted them for his sequoia. Not sure if they have the same CAT problems as the tundras but he didn't seem to be concerned.

Thank you for the info - this is very helpful. I will take some measurements on my truck to make sure that my sliders don't impact the mounting of this piece.

I didn’t realize they were different companies. Thanks for that. I guess I don’t know the difference in what they are offering and their respective prices. It seems to be a bit difficult to get the information. I suppose I want the least expensive one that will protect all 4 converters on my truck.

Maybe we can just get it clarified here...

@danz75 (or anyone else that has one already) - what's the thickness on the DE transmission/front cat skid plate? We know that it is currently quoted at $325/shipped with a 2-3 week lead time. We also know it stops at the cross member.

@Classy63 - what's the price for YOUR full setup (transmission/front cat skid + transfer case/rear cat skid) 3/16" powder coated steel, and what is your current lead time? We've seen $300 quoted for the rear only (in 3/16" powder coat).

CBI also has a "rear overland skid plate" option that provides very similar protection including the rear transfer case and cats. Not sure thickness, but price is $615 for powder coated (that is NOT including shipping) and lead times are 4+ weeks. https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/toyota-tundra-rear-overland-skid-plates-2/

Desert Eagle was the go-to that everyone is buying as it seemed to be the only option. It goes from crossmember to crossmember. You can still get to the back side of the rear cats but you can't get them out without removing the DE plate and cutting the front. Tyler makes one now as well. The difference with his is that he makes a 2nd plate that goes aft of the crossmember to cover the rest of the rear cats. For us with the Desert Eagle plate, we can purchase his rear plate to "extend" coverage over the rear cats.

@RainMan_PNW Can't get to the truck to measure it right now but Desert Eagle lists it as a 10 gauge steel plate. Found a chart online for gauge-thickness equivalent and its supposed to be ~9/64?

No issue at all, just a tight fit tightening the bolts

Hey Classy, do you know for those with the carrier bearing drop (ie from coach builder), will it have any issues contacting the skid plates? Maybe a stupid question but I know with my other offroad car, it was an issue with with the carrier bearing rubbing into an aftermarket exhaust.
