V6 turbo makes great power and acceleration as it gulps fuel like an F16 and spews out black smoke from the DI system. You think Tundra fuel economy is bad? Wait till you tow with one of these bad boys......

I should have clarified that I was talking about car sales specifically, not overall vehicle sales.

The Mrs. and I were cruising to dinner this weekend and pulled up next to a new Shelby Raptor at a stoplight. Nice truck but that thing sounded like crap.

I feel a tingle in my dingle that the 2022 Tundra will be powered by a Turbine Engine. I was down to the Dollar General on friday picking up my weekly ration of bacon and Crackhead Joe told me about it.

I laughed when I first heard it years ago. I was so used to hearing my friends V8 raptor hum. The ecoboost doesn’t sound right in that truck.

Highway is when I love it the most, pop it open and roll down the rear window to get some fresh air flowing through without feeling like I’m in a wind tunnel. Perfect after a couple of Taco Bell Bean Burritos.

Ah, but they sound amazing on the inside with the fake sound it plays through the speakers.

Also, I don’t give a fuck what anyone says - I love my sunroof. I’m 6’5” and I’ve never had issues with headroom, it’s nice to slide open the panel but leave the glass closed for a nice view of the sky, or if it’s raining - and I love popping it open, and rolling down the rear window when I’m cruising.

Frankly, headroom is always going to be the least of your concerns in a Tundra. They could have made it a lot shorter and still been fine.

A lot of the footage has a 2021 model in it. So I'm dubious about what's "new" and what's old. What's supposed to be a beefy-looking black bumper structure in the opening scene would be good if it has real steel and thick rubber in it, but a lot of pickups now are just breakable plastic that comes apart like a cheap suit in a minor crack-up. 2000 Dodge and 2002 Nissan Frontiers are good examples of that.

Buddy of mine bought his daughter a Mustang and took it to the exhaust shop. The guy warned him ahead of time not to expect V8 sound out of that 6

I was talking to a friend with a CM about that. We just wish there was some storage under that couch.

In my 2011 DC, there's an option I have where you can install (very easy, like 2 thumb screws if I recall) storage under the rear seat, is that not available in the Crewmax?

No, the CM doesn’t come with under seat storage.

interesting question I haven't seen asked.

is the 2022 Tundra going to be bigger or smaller than the previous gen.

I'd prefer smaller but, as far as I know, the competition is still ask getting bigger.

Like @Ellis_McPickle said, no under seat storage in the CM. Just another reason I should have bought a DC, I guess.

I'd rather have the rear roll down window, with the option to add third party under seat storage, than under seat storage, with no option to add a rear roll down window.

While I do get quite jealous of that roll down back window...I wasn’t willing to go to a 5’5 bed. DC for the win...lol. I really don’t get why Toyota didn’t put storage under the CM seats.

Apparently it's a vestige of the reclining rear seat from previous years. They removed the storage compartment when they went to that seat (which required longer tracks) and failed to replace it when they went away from that seat.

This is why there is no "One size fits all" when it comes to trucks. I've only once come close to filling up my bed, and when that happened I bought one of those roof rack storage bags that I can strap on top of my Diamondback. Haven't even taken that bag out of the box yet since I haven't needed it. I have filled up that back seat with adults that need leg room though many times. Other people that use their beds all the time to haul large items, or a lot of small items, and rarely carry adults as passengers need the larger bed.

But that roll down rear window is sooooooo nice.

    Gotchya...

Very true... I fill my bed on average about once a month. Additionally me and my wife are very short. My kids have a ton of room in the DC. And a few of my friends found it quite comfortable for long trips. I put and ATV in my bed so I wasn’t willing to have a 800 pound machine sit on the gate for a 5 hour drive. So like you said it all comes down to how you are going to use it...
