What the best way to keep the 1/2 ton ride. But increase tow ability from 1600 lbs to 2300 Lbs. For the purpose of towing larger 5th wheel camper. Heard about super springs and thought about going this way. Any ideas that may work better?

there are lots of posts on here about towing. the numbers your giving you must be talking cargo capacity. either way you cant increase towing capacity. you can do things that make it perform better within the trucks limits. 1/2 ton trucks are not good with 5th wheel campers

That is easy. Buy a bigger truck.

5000 lbs is misleading you can't put 5000 pounds in a 1/2 ton truck. air bags are great I have them on my tundra but they still don't add cargo capacity. I you fill your bed with 5000 lbs of whatever pump up your air bags to make it look level you have created a pretty dangerous vehicle that looks safe

Isn't it great that Toyota adopted the safety towing standard? Sure wish Tundra owners would as well.

You do realize your overloaded right? By a lot

Really, why pick on the newbie?

With upgraded tires (to E rating) and 5000 lb air bags,, I'm well within the industrys safety standards.

I've owned 3500 chevys and 2500 fords and the Tundra pulls circles around both!

The transmission , rearend and driveline are better than the ones offered on chevy, ford and dodge in their 3/4 tons,,,, the Tundras brakes are much bigger and better than what other manufacturers offer on their 3/4 ton vehicles too....

Sir, I see by your profile you own a 3500 GMC and that's great, but why are you dogging me?

I would say the same thing to you as I would the site owner. So look in the quoted message in red.

Are there other kits that come with a compressor and controls?

Yes, and they are nice if you want to drop the coin. Now there are remote control systems with fob style controls. Pretty bad ass. This is great for people that change trailers and loads often.

I would make sure it doesn't have internal bumpstops.

Personally, hard to not go with Firestone. So far in my truck ownership, 3 sets of bags. Two where Firestones and they were great. The competition....not so much.

    I don't know.

I would get the airbag cradles anyway in your situation having a Pro, and you will not have to worry about tearing bags Offroad.

It is an additional expense, and that sucks, but you own a truck that I'm pretty sure your gonna want to take Offroad sometime.

Hope that helps a little bit.
