I’m looking for new sets of tires. I am interested in tires that can handle such things as boats, trailers, etc. nothing heavy duty to haul. What do you guys recommend? I live in Minnesota full of winter/rain/dry all combined. My rims are stock 275/65-18.

little unsure how loading rating/ply works. If I can find something maybe in the middle.

    thank you

    Michelin Defenders LTX

Cooper XLTs are a damn good tire as well. I have them currently on my tow rig. Wear fast in my application, but should last 40-60K miles on a Tundra.

my Cooper AT3’s (pre XLT option) have nearly 60k on them and at least 10k worth of life left in them. Still smooth and quiet, I make sure to stay on top of rotations.

I have heard great things about the Michelin Defender LTX. I believe it is less of an AT tire than the Coopers.

I would agree with this statement. No tire lasts on my truck, so if I can get 30k out of a set, I’m dancing in the streets.

KO2’s are a very solid tire but my current Toyo AT3’s are great for winter travel. My 2 cents.

My two Choices I’ve came up with now is NRG, K02, or Wildpeak At3w

I have heard about issues getting KO2’s to balance. I don’t know if there is any advantage of NRG over something like the Toyo’s, but you will likely get less miles out of them.

I'd recommend the Toyo RT for towing. I had 2 sets on my old F250. I got about 50k miles out of both sets with regular rotating and towing 10k a few times a month. I got another set for my Tundra and they have been great so far.

I had those Michelins, indeed an excellent tire, I'd buy them again.

Now running those Coopers, I love them too.

if it doesn’t say LT then its not a c load. OE tirea are 114 rating, so it is only ever so slightly higher.

What weights are you towing? I was running e rated BFGs, i now have the P rated OE michelins. I honestly cannot tell a difference with my 4k lb trailer when i have my michelins at 50psi. The e rated tires do corner better in day to day driving though.

there are some XL rated tires that will be a little tougher without jumping to the E rated

just your typical boat/trailers and mud runs at times. Yeah I notice, with falkens at stock rims, they do offer a ply 10. Little bit more expensive

I am also in the market for towing tires. Considering the Cooper AT3X LTs, E rated on 18" TRD Off Road rims.

I'll be sure to have the same tire on the spare.

My question is should the spare use the same rim or are the heavier stock steel rims okay?
