Dude's driving across the Arctic Ice Cap, looks like. Except for the manhole cover.

Reminds me of the Top Gear episode where they drove a couple of Tundras* to the North Pole. Not too many Chevies, F-150s or Dodges do that.

Arctic ice cap aka Texas last couple weeks. I think the guy who posted the spy shot lives in Texas

lmao no I just stopped going on here bc I needed to stop buying sh*t... but genuinely curious about the 2022. I grabbed the pic from the FB group and noticed no one posted it on here yet. Here is a screengrab of the guy who posted it. Love panoramic roofs and this would be a good replacement if they do end up not doing the full rear window roll down thing.

I think they'd be stupid to get rid of the roll down rear window.

TOTALLY AGREE! That's one of the Tundra's unique features. It would be a shame if it went away unless it in some way detracts from other, important attributes.

It's sad that Jeep quality is so abysmal because, in all fairness, they are the one brand that has stayed true to its off-road roots, at least as it pertains to appearance and capability in the Wrangler line. I would never buy a Jeep but if Toyota went back to the basics and stopped building luxury mall cruisers, I'd be all over it.

I would argue the Wrangler is the only Jeep that's stayed true to its roots. They have a few mall crawlers in their lineup too.

Agreed, a good friend of mine is a dodge owner, his last one went thru 3 transmissions before it hit 75k. He asked me how I liked my Tundra, and I told him how much I liked it. and he went and bought another Ram. I'm not a fan of their interiors, nor the GM*'s just very boxy/cheap looking - the Fords are nice, but honestly, not a fan of the ride. I do like the gas mileage they get however, not sure if that's enough to make me switch. I looked last year when I was looking around. But, went back to the Tundra in my test drives after looking at the big 3.

I don't think anyone here is asking for "cutting edge technology"; there's a lot of stuff that I would like that has been in other Toyota vehicles for a decade if not longer. I mean the Tacoma looks cutting edge compared to the Tundra - is the Tacoma any less reliable, or have any decreased resale value because of its technology? My 2013 Tacoma has an outlet in the bed, why doesn't my 2020 Tundra? My 2013 Tacoma has auto up and down windows on all for windows - why doesn't my 2020 Tundra? What about Crawl mode on the Tacoma? It's not really a solid argument to say we'll lose reliability/resale value by getting all the new tech.

not only that a panoramic sunroof would darn near be a deal killer for me. worst option ever. sunroofs are the devils work and eventually they all will leak. damned if i want my entire roof leaking and taking away from structural rigidity. And headroom. fucking shit ass sunroofs. put that shit on a POS lincoln pansyassmobile for the metrosexual crowd, not on my damned tow a fucking duck boat so i can go kill some shit truck!

I hear ya but still luv my sunroof and use it with the back window frequently. Like anything else will have to put new seals and check-up periodically. Wouldn't care for panoramic.

Also on that picture, just because the tarp has that shape/flaps on roof doesn't indicate anything. A lighter and composite bed would be nice and they are supposedly stronger than steel.

I loved having a sunroof when I commuted in the city but now that my drive is mostly highway, I wouldn't use it anyway.

Buyer: 'do you offer a panoramic sunroof option for this truck?'
Dealer: 'yes but for $5,000 less we can put a 'i like it in the ass' bumper sticker on your truck instead'.

this 2022 thing is stressing me! i'd consider turbos if i had stupid fast acceleration.

anyone remember the early toyota pickup with turbo? cousins friend had an extended cab (80s style like in back to the future) turbo. 5 spd and it was a pretty awesome truck for its time.

Maybe I'm in the minority here as someone brand new to Toyota coming from a 14 Ecoboost. I look at the competition and don't see anything offered in them that a 2021 Tundra doesn't offer. I'm a 90% plus local city driver, so fuel economy isn't that huge of a difference for me VS the competition. I use my truck to pull my 5k travel trailer in the summer, so bad fuel economy for that regardless. As mentioned in a recent post, all these latest and greatest technology turning trucks into computers on wheels and saving small amounts of fuel here and there hurt reliability. While I can completely understand that long time Tundra owners are excited about something finally new, and I'm sure I'll like it too, I've decided the current offering will satisfy my needs.
