Posted this over in the dirt bike thread, not really a dirt bike so I figured I'd put it up here.

1984 BMW R80ST...just got picked up by Max BMW for some love and attention earlier this week.

Thanks...among other things MaxBMW is doing, will be swapping back the original tank that's in mint condition.

I am envious of those who have the skills to do work on their own stuff...motorcycles and Tundra's included.

Do you still get M&M's from Max when they service your bike, or is that only when ordering parts online

2020 Yamaha Tracer 900GT. Couldn't resist picking this up a few weeks ago. Got a good deal. Probably the best motor in a bike I have ever ridden, just perfect.

During the Texas winter storm last week, we had a pipe break in the garage at 4AM. We ran into the garage, water is running out of the ceiling and I look at the wife and say "Hurry, go down the driveway and turn off the water at the main". She looks at me incredulously and says "What are you going to do?".
I look her right in her eye, tilt my head down slightly (to not encourage the lioness coming out) and said "Cover my bike"!

A big single rotor does make modulation easier without abs. The brakes on my zx6r had much less feel, and the buell handles midcorner ripples with less drama.

I just realized it's belt driven too. Is that big wheel by the exhaust a tensioner or just an idler? Seems like a cool bike.

Its a idler. No spring, and the bolt holes arent slotted. After you replace the rear wheel, you have someone heavier sit on the bike (i use a jackstand with a piece of roundstock to help extra) and run the 2nd bolt in. Swingarm pivot is very close to equal with the drive sprocket, and have never had the belt slip. The original belt broke at 30k, of which i put 24k of those. The replacement belt was better, but it took a little finding since the early 2003s use an 11mm belt, and everything else uses 14mm belts.

E4D0C4CE-829A-4272-B804-DA7263CDD425.jpg Got the street bike out for a ride today, 64f is just about perfect as long as the sun is out. I love this state but the lack of sunny days is really grinding on me.

I have 55k on the OD, the engine is printed but this is the same bike I bought in 2012 off the floor.
