I want to tint my front two windows and add an eyebrow. With that said I want them to be darker than the rears due to light coming in through the windshield but not too dark to notice a difference between front and rear. What percent would you guys recommend?

5% is usually the darkest you can get anywhere. I have 5% all around my truck and also the glare strip

Unless it's the look you're after do the whole windshield. I've had it done on the last 3 vehicles I've owned. 50% on the Tundra. Makes a huge temperature difference and with 50% or less it doesn't noticeably limit vision at night etc.
As for the other windows I have 20% on everything. The back is a little darker because it is over the factory tint. 20% on just the front and nothing over factory comes very close to matching.

    55% windshield

20% front doors and back window

    35% back doors

The back doors have factory tint so it should match up nicely on side view.

    Option B..what I did
    55% windshield
    5% the rest.

Rocking 5% on the fronts, 15% rears and back due to the factory tint already there. Toyed with the idea of the windshield...haven't pulled that trigger

You don't get harassed for being over the legal limit in Utah? I thought it was illegal to have more than the top 6" or whatever of the windshield too..?

I haven't been pulled over in the Tundra but I had the exact same set up in the Taco without issue. The windshield is not noticeable unless you're looking for it. It's mostly tinted for the ceramic heat shield and not color.

Yes, that will be close. When I got my Tundra tinted, the shop metered the back doors and rear window; from the factory, those are all 17%.

I did 5% on the front doors, 20% on the rear doors and back window...all glass now meters right at 4%. I also did 32% on the entire windshield.

    Flux capacitor!
I had a buddy tell me about a new clear film for the front windshield that blocks out some of the UV rays and light. It's by 3M called Crystalline series’ performance. According to 3M, the company’s clear films will allow anywhere from 40 percent to 90 percent of visible light into a car, depending on which grade is chosen. Also dependent upon which grade is chosen is the amount of solar energy rejected, which ranges from 34 percent to 60 percent. If you want to Tint your front windshield it's a great alternative without sacrificing night time vision.

Yeah, there's no vehicle inspections where I live. Upside is I can pretty much do whatever I want, downside is every POS that isn't suitable for driving is.

I was thinking the same. I live out in the desert and its gets way dark. Usually when I turn right or left I cant see if there's anything walking into the road. Then I remember I'm in the middle of the desert and what ever could be walking in the road probably is ok to hit lol

That's usually the case when i'm hunting which is 30 minutes to 45 mins to the nearest TOWN......where i was living, country is only 5 minutes away from the city limits, needless to say we do have idijits and dumbasses that think walking down a country road wearing nothing but black clothing while drunk, high, and even sober is a good idea......

wouldn't mind having a couple of those idiots as hood ornaments sometimes the way they think they can walk in the middle of the road!:mad::mad::mad:

good thing i have good headlights! LED bar would be even better! (definitely an upcoming mod)

DUDE... I agree 100%. When I lived in Texas, it seemed like folks would try and time your speed so they could tap the ass end of your truck as you drove by. Regardless, if you're being a dumbshit and trying to play chicken with me, that's on you. I only say that because it actually happened. Then the jackass started flopping around until a cop drove up and told him he saw everything and to get up. Made my day.

I was shitting myself when the cop pulled over with lights on. I was thinking, "shit I'm going to jail for hitting this SOB and his ass is the one who jumped on my truck." luckily the officer said he has seen this on more than one occasion and this was just another one of those. He was really cool about it and even let the jackass who crossed and got hit, leave. I wasn't going fast at all but the dude could have definitely taken me to the cleaners if we were in... let's say... Oregon or SanFran or LA lol.
