Roof Rack for kayaks?

Trying to find the best roof rack to secure two sea kayaks to a CrewMax cab. Thule makes a "clamp on" type. Rhino Rack makes a type where the tracks have to be riveted into the roof.

Unfortunately the garage door won't allow anything higher to fit underneath.

While I'm not much interested in drilling a brand new truck I have the ability...

I am concerned about the Rhino Rack tracks lasting through multiple salt covered winters. Might be a good use for Boeshield T-9.

I've seen the thread from the 2015 Tundra, I'm wondering if there are any updates?

Does it have to be a roof rack? Plenty of bed rack options.

 

You need to buy my DropRacks system, will work on your CM over the doors. I'm local too.

That's pretty cool but I already have a Malone lift kit for the kayaks. I also have to be able to take this off in winter to get the truck in the house garage. The door height is limited.

 

Because of the length of the 17' kayak it has to be over the roof. Otherwise the kayak interferes with my wife's trailer. That was a big problem with the FJ....

 

This setup removes in 10 minutes.

 

It's interesting but I see from the website that it's only available in some countries in Europe? If I can get one in the USA how much does it cost? How does it attach to the roof? One pic seems to show it clamped to the passenger door. That would be a problem; I need to have those doors available.

Guess I have a ton of questions.
