Yeah... I’ve shifted my attention to my truck the past four months, which is good. Because if I was out searching for ammo right now I’d just be pissed off.

I’ve got a good stockpile of components but need to start working on loads (just learning to reload), and enough factory stuff for most of my toys given how seldom I actually have time to go shoot them. And everything I own right now needs sighted in because I was on a spree last year changing out optics. Ugh...

We just did it last fall. 15-yr at 2.49% out the door... my payment stayed the exact same but I’ll be paid off 6 years sooner (and $80k less interest).

Yeah. What I love is that when I look at my statement each month, I can actually see the principal dropping by a number that you notice. It’s not like back when we first got our 30-yr and the principal would only drop by what felt like a few dollars each payment.

I think my grandparents were at 10-15% in the 70's, that would make me puke throwing that cash away.

Doing a 12 year no-Fee through becu. It’s like 2.75% but the difference wouldn’t mean a whole lot for what we have left. Plus it’s super easy as it’s through becu.

I'm going to shoot for paying my 15yr off in 12. Just takes hard work and dedication right??

In November I refinanced at 2.25 on a 30yr VA loan. Definitely loving these rates!

On the other hand, I find myself frequently going to the top of a thread and clicking on “unwatch”. Usually because it’s veered off topic or just going nowhere.
Kinda like the “ignore” button. Sometimes I sense a troll or an intense overload of ego, and that button solves it!

Yeah a little. And not buying other things. Paying ours down a little bit too so it’s not much more than what we’ve been paying. Also I get to send my own tax and insurance payments!

Oh... back to the watch thread topic...I love it when people think they have to post to follow a thread, so they just post something stupid like “sub’d” - just hit the frigging watch thread button at the top! Unless you really want that post count meter to go up...

See, now I don’t follow that thread because otherwise I’d be broke having you commissioned to make knives for me.

Beautiful - as always Ray. And that is my favorite profile for general kitchen use. I’m afraid the rest of my family wouldn’t take proper care of it though. But one of these days I’ll finally come up with my list of features to have you make one for me.

The design was collaborative; he wanted the Sontoku style blade shape but not the tapered oval handle, typical of Asian cooking knives. Also, he requested the ricaso, which is not common for Asian cutlery

I have a Shun santoku that is one of the Ken Onion designed ones (with his signature handle shape) - so a major departure from the traditional handle. It’s the first one I reach for 90% of the time. I find the mostly flat blade so much more efficient than the highly curved chef knife profiles - especially since I often do a mix of chopping and slicing when prepping things.

I’ll be honest - I had to look up ricasso. And I’d have to skip it - I like to have the whole blade available to draw though long slices.

I agree. This one is my personal chefs knife and I use it several times every day. No ricaso, but it’s got the European style handle that I prefer for greater control

That is the one. The hollow spots are great for slicing without things sticking to the blades. I have a full set of the Shun KO’s that I picked up at the factory sale 16 years ago for a crazy discount. The boning/filet knife is probably my second favorite. I could go without all the rest as long as I had those two...

Don't know how many of you live in the south Seattle area but someone has been going around cutting brake lines in that area. We had 4 come into the dealership in Renton yesterday. They haven't caught the guy yet but there's been 18 reports so far of cut brake lines last night from Seattle all the way to Federal Way. Just wanted to warn ya'll, stay safe out there.
