Rear Camera BEEP?

Hi all,

I have the reverse Cam and it’s great but the darn thing won’t beep if I’m getting close to anything either backing up of going straight. Any ideas or suggestions? If it doesn’t beep, know where
I can buy one?

 

If the dash arrangement is the same as my 2019, Look to the lower right of the steering wheel ; should be a button that has a “P” on it. Press that and the beeps will work......

 

Does it make sense that somehow my vehicle just didn’t have that option but had the camera? I don’t see the button so unless I’m totally missing it I don’t know what’s up. It’s so annoying not to have at this point.

 

Do you have the sensors in your bumper?

 

its possible; also check you stereo. Cycle through and Go to vehicle settings on the menu. Might be a way to turn it on there. Here is the dash button I was talking about.

 

I have a back up camera, but do not have the parking sensors on my '21. The beeping doesn't have anything to do with the camera.

 

I'm betting that the OP's trim is an SR or SR5.

This. The beeping is part of the parking sensor, not specific to the camera. It is interesting that the camera alone does not provide a proximity warning beep.

 

The camera, being a visual device, does provide a proximity warning. The red line is 18", the next blue line is at 3', all subject to the slope of the ground and elevated extensions behind. There are seven pages in my Owner Manual on how to use information from the rear view camera.

If your bumper doesn't have these, or you don't have the button shown in the pictures above, you won't be getting any beeps unless you actually back into that car behind you. These little circles are sonar sensors and that's what provides the beeping. The camera is there for visual verification.

 

Yup. My SR5 has a backup camera, no parking sensors and no beeping.

I use my eyes and mirrors to warn me when I'm too close to something.
