Anybody have any thoughts on blacking out the chrome on my bumpers using Rhinoliner? I'm thinking I may do it.

I'd probably just rough up the chrome with a scotchbrite pad, maybe use some etching primer and go for it. Should work out just fine.

It holds up very well. Had it done over a year ago. Not a single scratch on it. Super solid. LINE-X

@JStorm that looks rediculiously awesome. I was thinking of doing mine myself with the roll kit because it's just the bumperettes. If it came out bad I'd have it professionally done. Anyone had a crack at it themselves?

Any issues with getting/keeping the bumpers clean after having the line x done? I would think with all the crevices it would be hard to keep it looking nice? The local guy quoted me 200 for all 4 bumper corners but after seeing this I may do the plastic as well.

Are you guys removing the front bumper caps to do that or spray them in place? The PIA of removing the front caps is the only reason mine are still chrome.

I sprayed mine a couple weeks ago with raptor liner from Amazon. I removed the front and rear caps, roughed all the chrome with 80 grit, sprayed with etching primer and then sprayed the liner on. Hopefully it'll hold up.

Question for ya! Do you have blind spot monitors? If so do they still work with the bed liner over the rear bumpers?

I did my bumper right after I got it.
Step 1- 85 grit on orbital sander
Step 2- bullydog self etch primer
Step 3- Monstaliner roll on bedliner

Held up AWESOME and more importantly, it washes up great bc it isn’t as textured as most other liners.

Is monstaliner the go-to for DIY bedliner? I want to bedliner both my front and rear bumpers. Thanks!

I like this idea. I've got my caps plastidipped with Anthracite Gray and it's held up ok, but some spots are starting to peal off and I want a more permanent option that doesn't include spending $1k on factory matched plastic caps. I just went to the Monstaliner site and request a few of the gray chips to see if one is close-ish to MGM 1G3. I'll report back with what I find.
