Some good beer in Bend, too. That's very relaxing after a nice hike.

Well, since you quoted my post, two years later, which had nothing to do with your previous post 10 minutes earlier, I'll make it simple for you. I never referred to your post. I was merely saying that the only things that really make me mad are off limits in this forum. I would absolutely agree with your previous post concerning AOC.

Don't worry, I know I'm old and slow so I stay to the right!

The ring road that runs around Edmonton is a strange combination of people driving 20 over the limit and 20 under the limit.

People who leave there shopping carts all over parking lot. And people that don’t put items back in the same bins where they got it from. Stores like Home Depot Lowe’s and such.

Since I moved to this new neighbourhood this is a much bigger problem but I also started shopping at a different grocery store so I can't figure out if everyone around here is lazy and entitled or just the ones who shop at the good grocery store.

Then you get an accident on the Henday in say the northbound lanes and everyone in the southbound lanes 50 yards away across the median has to slow to a crawl to eye hump the scene. Don't forget the Whitemud. While the Henday is a mix of slow and fast drivers, the Whitemud is just a drag race strip. At least until someone notices a radar trap then everyone hammers on their brakes, does the speed limit for a few hundred yards then pins 'er again. Oh! How about the Yellowhead or the north east side of the city? Screw all of that.

There's one for this thread. Edmonton makes me angry.

Of those 3, I think I hate the Henday the least but I don't often have to venture over to the north west and south west corners where all the slow drivers are.

The Yellowhead is just stupid. Whoever said back in the day that Edmonton would never grow and thus traffic lights were acceptable on the main east west thoroughfare through the city should be strung up by his ankles.

When I'm in Edmonton, I stay in the southern part of the city. Terwilligar down to Windermere and venture over the South Common area once in a blue moon. It's the only part of the city I can tolerate as it's more open. I'll never go down town again as long as I live. Made that mistake once. Felt like I was in Vancouver again. Fuck. That.

5 days without running water in the house has made me an angry SOB. I would connect the well to the house but there has been a run on plumbing supplies locally so doing it properly is a no-go. Could rig it with garden hose but :monocle:

Too many rich pricks in Terwilliger and Windermere and South Common is a combination of a madhouse and a maze.

We pretty much only go into the city normally (outside a pandemic) to see family or to eat at a few select restaurants on the south side that we really like.

My extended family are rich pricks so we stay with them in their big house near Terwilligar to save on hotel costs the once a year we travel there. :D Other than that, Windermere has pretty much everything I go to the city for; Cabela's, Wine and Beyond, and the VIP screens at Cineplex. South Common has Atmosphere, IKEA and MEC. The only things I head north for are Reid's Fly Shop and Tundra Supply, my friend's gun shop.

We don't forsee any trips to Edmonton any time soon though. I can shop Cabela's online, we have a higher end booze store here now, and the Great Panic has killed movie theaters. Atmosphere has gone downhill. IKEA and MEC have pissed me off and I won't shop at either now. Reid's and Tundra will mail me my shit.

Once the Great Panic is over, we'll probably go down for the boat show but that's about it. I'm finding less and less reason to ever go to Edmonton again.

We'll only go when I actually get into the market to buy a boat. What's the admission fee on them down there? Here the pitiful joke of a "sportsmen show" wants $15 per person and you can see everything in about 10 minutes with no prices being below retail. Even the RV shows started to want $10 - $15 a head. We used to grab a coffee and wander around them to kill time, but don't bother now that they charge admission.

The shows are usually about $15 unless my dad can get a senior's discount plus $8 or $12 or something like that for parking. At least you can get free RV show tickets from AMA but, like you say, I'm not sure the deals there are all they're cracked up to be, especially after buying dinner for the two of us plus whatever type of sweet treats the wife insists on getting. :frusty:
