Ya it says "genuine leather"... Looks nice with the piano black and leather. Just not sure about the quality. Ships from taiwan... Not a bad price. Guess I might have to be the guinea pig...

May be of zero help, but will throw this out since it's the place where all of us Vette nuts go when we have some extra change burning a hole in our pocket and want to upgrade interior items - including steering wheels.

    https://www.caravaggiocorvettes.com/

Owners name is John Caravaggio - and the work they do is literally artwork.

Did anyone end up getting one of these MIT steering wheels? What’s the verdict?

I’d love to see if someone would post pics of their new MIT wheel and how much it would cost to install.
    It’s amazing looking!

I wonder how difficult it is as a DIY since you have to mess with the airbag.

From my experience installing aftermarket steering wheels, its been a straight forward DIY. These were german vehicles not Tundras however, the times I've done steering wheel swaps its taken no more than an hour. The airbag is a non-issue if you disconnect the battery (step one). Other than that, no special tools, maybe a recommendation on torque spec on the Tundra steering wheel.

Has anyone swapped a steering wheel on a Gen 2/3 Tundra, maybe they can chime in.

This is the MIT wheel? Did you get a choice in stitching color (noticed the red)?

This is a really great tutorial on swapping to a Corolla steering wheel. I did it a few months back. Swapping with a regular tundra steering wheel is obviously way easier.

most important thing is to disconnect the negative terminal on your truck battery first. You will be disconnecting the steering wheel airbag. Don’t want that going off on you.

the only ‘special’ tool you need is a deep 19mm socket. And BE SO CAREFUL WITH THE CLOCK SPRING! There’s a whole post on here where a guy pulled his steering wheel off too hard and it ripped the cables coming from the clock spring. He had to replace the whole thing for like $600+ bucks.

you definitely don’t need a steering wheel puller. Just wiggle and jiggle it after you take the nut off. Don’t even try to pull it while it’s stuck. After a bit it will be totally unstuck and you can pull it off.

remember to tape the clock spring in place! It rotates freely and that can mess you up!

also this should be obvious but I hate to admit how many times I have forgotten to do this… park with your wheels straight and steering wheel straight aligned. Your wheels can be straight and steering wheel slightly askew ya know? And then if you just mark the steering wheel location relative to the gears it’s interlocking with BEFORE you take it off, you could really do the process even if the wheels were not straight ahead. It’s not a big deal if you’re off one spline though. Just another 15-30 minutes of knuckle draggin.

I consider myself pretty efficient at replacing tundra and Corolla steering wheels now. At least the tundra one has a much easier release mechanism for the airbag than the Corolla. Tundra is just 3 screws. Corolla has these blind springs/pins you just have to release by sending something long and skinny through a hole you can barely see until you hit just the right spot… man I should really call her…

I forget what company it was. But yeah you could change the color of stitching what kind of leather.
