    Just ordered a system from James at Tech12volts.com based on the high praise from most on this site. I have a Kenwood DDX9707s head unit (Maestol RR and harnesses) coming, along with 2 pair of Hertz ck165 components, amp rack and 2 JL AUDIO 10w0 subs in a ported box. I'll be using a NVX VAD11005 five channel amp from a previous project. James was great to deal with so far just as everyone said and I can't wait for everything to get here. I plan on posting lots of pictures of my install in another thread as well.

    Always exciting! I went with the JBL complete system from James which oddly has zero actual JBL components. I already had the Kenwood 10.1” HU. The amp is the Infinity 5 channel (same as the JBL) plus Hertz K170 in all 4 doors and 2 JL W0 10’s in a ported box. I loved it at first but couldn’t help but feel like I was missing some mids so I told him my problem and he sent me some Hertz CK165L for the front doors and they arrive tomorrow!

    Very reasonable for the box, subs, speakers and head unit. It was $37 to ship it out here to California. I haven't received it yet and I can't wait to get it all.

    Wow that's an awesome price. I got a quote but it was without shipping. I was budgeting $100 for the shipping and I'm much closer than you to him.

    Have you installed the Hertz CK165L's? Do they improve the mid-bass sound? I have the same K170's and feel the same about mid-bass.

    Not yet. I don’t think I will have time this weekend. Probably next weekend. I’ll let you know once I install. They are supposedly amazing speakers and at $300 a pair I would imagine the difference will be clearly evident.
