I know we've discussed key fobs in the past. Does anyone know how expensive it is to buy a spare fob for my 02? I only got one with the truck.

How many can you use at one time? Jk, I too, only have one, but haven’t looked to deep into another. Kinda waiting to do a remote start, then the oe fob is a moot point.

@FirstGenVol Is my 05 one the same? I have a spare you could have.

No use for it now either. Also because of remote start lol.

    How do you reprogram one?

I don't really need a 2nd one but it would be nice to have one on each sets of keys. I'm more curious at this point what it costs. My key fob lost the little screw that holds it together so at minimum I'm going to order a new shell. Remote start would be sweet.

I don’t have a fob for hers and she doesn’t have a fob for mine:(

your fob has a screw? I thought mine just like popped open? If I can find mine I’ll look for the screw and send it to you, or you can look at AJT design for a replacement plastic

I bought one for mine from Amazon it was around $20.

Programming involves turning the key, opening the door, pressing the door lock button. The new fob should come with instructions.

It depends on if you have a factory or port/dealer installed system....what is the number on the back of your key fob?

Funny story here. When I was maybe 19 a friend of mine was basically having everybody over for 2 weeks because his parents were out of town. His grandmother would drop by from time to time to check on him (and us).

We were getting drunk daily and they had a band, so it was pretty much a party house. We were drinking cases of Milwaukee Best about every hour at times. She didn't seem to care.

After the first weekend, she dropped by and asked me to help her unload "a few boxes of that soda you guys love so much". I went to the trunk of her car and it has a few 12 packs of Hawaiian Punch

I can see how she would mistake the cans, but it was so funny that she thought we were just on a mad sugar high pounding Hawaiian Punch.

Schlitz was my Dad's go to beer as well. He swears it was one of the better beers till Stroh's bought them, who them sold them to Pabst...they turned it into one of the piss beers. I'm old enough to remember (from watching my Dads and uncles drinking and being given 1/2 beers after they were drunk) when there were many many breweries all over the country who were then bought up by the larger breweries until in the late 80s there were only a couple companies owning all of them and then the 90s came along with the "micro-brew" craze like it was something completely new. It seems so crazy that there was a whole movie based on the fact that you couldn't get Coors east of the Mississippi...and I can remember when Coors was so proud of the fact that their beer was NEVER unrefrigerated before it got to the consumer to keep it fresh...not so much anymore...

I get all of my fobs off eBay....Amazon is a rip-off....unless you NEED something immediately and speed is more important than money. Plus, I don't like supporting them financially given some of their recent "business" decisions...

Apparently most of my neighbors don’t pay attention to what comes up and down our street, and don’t find it necessary to lock their car doors. At least two different houses got the car doors checked and opened and stole a bunch of useless crap.
I even make mamma bear lock up her bike inside our gated yard.....
Man I’d love to catch these turds in the act.

There has been an increase of garage entry from people leaving their doors unlocked and having the garage door clicker clipped to the sun visor around town. Having been subjected to a completely different way of life growing up in NYC has resulted in multiple security cameras and other measures I tend to overthink at home. Been burned way too many times to be lax about it. I'd recommend something like a Nest camera just to be able to keep an eye on things or answer questions you may have about "what happened" after the fact. My cameras have been useful in answering many questions I have since I tend to perhaps pay too much attention to what goes up/down our street.

A quick example, a couple of months ago my neighbor told me he found a broken bottle near his driveway and wondered if someone had thrown it on his property. Since one of my front facing cameras partially captures the front of his house, I filtered "events" by sound and was able to pinpoint that someone walking their large dog past his house resulted in a broken glass on the ground. Since it was at night I wasn't able to clearly see exactly what happened but it definitely wasn't something malicious. My best guess is the dog hit the recycle bin which may have had a bottle on the outer lid. The dog may have been spooked/excited from my neighbors dog barking from behind his gate. My cameras have been useful in answering many questions I have since I tend to perhaps pay too much attention to what goes up/down our street.
