What is a good tailgate worth? I would pay at least that if it was white. I would run it for a while.

There was a cover band playing all the classics. They didn't get to the eagles while I was there, but if they had hit Easy Feeling that might have been a slam dunk

Was on my way home from running some errands and the wife calls to tell me she sees a leak in the garage but doesn't know where its coming from.

I've been home for 15 minutes, the chase is on. @FrenchToasty I need a hose clamp

Guess it's a good time to show her where the shut off valve is? Ugh, if I didn't go to college I'd be spending the rest of my life patching drywall like that and butterknife holes cut by sparky.

Found in less than 30 minutes. Here's the shit I ripped out, hammer for size reference

    20210218_201959.jpg

    Here's the chase, about 8'x1'
    20210218_202015.jpg

And the pin hole I suspect is right on the back of where that 3/4 comes off the 1x3/4x3/4 tee. I don't have one of those so I will have to fix this tomorrow and let a bucket catch it for now. Seems like it has been leaking for a few days, found a small patch of mold right where the drips dropped.

Haha, our shut off is a gate valve and I wouldn't touch it. I used the meter a few times, need to cut out and replace my front service. The shut off, tie to sprinklers, pressure regulator, and hose bib. Just need to find the time to do it.

I'm glad she noticed it. The drip went right in my work boots.

There you go. I'd just spray some bleach on the small mold patch and let it get some air, then reuse all the dry insulation. Good thing it's just a pinhole and not a supersoaker, that would suck to come home to.

Yeah I'm gonna leave this hole open for a while since its in the garage. I'm sure all the corrosion came from this rookie move some landscaper did who knows how long ago.

They pulled the hose bib and used a galvanized tee directly on the copper. I'm sure most landscapers don't know about dielectric couplers and soldering copper is outside their range. Too bad this caused so much corrosion, I'm tempted to replace a lot more pipe than I need to as prevention. I'm going to replace the front service here in the next few weeks.

That kinda stuff can be stressful to find huh! Whenever I get one of those call outs my anxiety level raises.
It looks like you found it pretty quickly without having to cut to much.
I’m sure our painters love the on call guys; I made about 8 holes and a strip from floor to ceiling one night looking for a pin hole.
I’m sure I’m going to get a pinhole leak call out now, after talking about it

Last winter, my wife woke up to a strange noise coming from the house. (Our house is a quad-level. Bedrooms on top floor.) She thought it was the water softener at first and then, even in her sleepiness, she thought it was too loud.
A galvanized pipe in our basement (the mainline off the well) had developed a pinhole leak and was spraying a jet of water.
When she got down to the basement, there was ~2" of water on the floor.
That was fun followed by expensive.

That's a strange design for a high-clearance bumper. Looks like the vertical section at the very end hangs down. Seems like it'd be likely to catch any rock that got close.
