Tacoma offroad bumper on 1st gen Tundra

Alright,. I know it's been done by several folks but I need details.

Everyone says the brackets need modification. How much modification? What bumpers work? Anyone have details/pictures?

 

what the arb bumper your gonna need to build or customize the brackets on it ti get it to fit the best you can

I have them on my phone they might be on my laptop but it was project of cut and tack welding till I got it right Ill find the pictures after work

 

Someone recently added one and said it was a pain but doable. They had a body shop handle the installation.

 

whoever pays a body shop to do something like put a decent but not great fitting bumper on shouldve just bought the bff version

 

I'm more concerned about bumper fitment on the truck. I can make new brackets to mount it.

 

There are a few different ARB bumpers. One made for our trucks, and one for a Tacoma. Someone recently made one from a Tacoma work but I can't remember who it was.

Yep, this is the one made specifically for the gen 1 tundra. However, it was a PITA to install. If it weren't for the wait, I'd have gone with Brute Force Fab. The fit and finish is great and I love the bumper (who doesn't like an ARB!?), but I would love full brush guard. protection.

 

it fits fine but sits in the fenders about an inch and a half
