I just saw an added negative to hub spacers if you have no flares.

There's also the Colorado BS thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/colorado-bs-thread.39/

Pretty sure I'm the only first genner, though. The Colorado Tundra thread doesn't get much action / if you want to meet people in the area head over to the TacomoWorld Colorado thread. That's full of daily shenanigans.

We have “snow birds” here, you really can tell when the flock hits town.

Also driving in Hawaii is interesting. My cousin told me no one honks, he was right, the guy on the moped making his phone call at the green light, just looked back at me and continued his conversation......

The guy who did this bumper and cut bedsides said he only charges $240 for the job. does that seem surprisingly low or is it just me?

Also, anyone know what happened to @ESTundra937 ? He had a really cool silver tundra that he swapped to the pre-facelift front end.

@FirstGenVol thats a very good point. When I lived in "The Valley" (the area of LA County where Karate Kid took place) when the light turned green you would hear honking immediately. No matter how fast you launch from the stop light, you will hear the horns.

I moved to Moorpark, a quiet little town in Ventura County, and nobody honks here. They even know how to merge here.

And Sir Golden Hands brings up a great point. You may think you're a great driver until you find yourself in a land where rules don't apply. I've driven in Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, they were all scary and you've got to be on your game to get around.

I've also driven quite a bit in Norway where they rarely have stop signs, instead they have the rule of right where the person to your right has right of way. That took a lot of getting used to and I wished I could come to a crowded 4 way stop to see who gets to go, but it didn't happen. Driving in Iceland was pretty similar.

That is really cheap for a bumper, hard to see what he built there to be fair.

Ive driven in the Cayman islands and France, and both were pretty scary. Granted I was driving a big manual van in both but the lack of stop signs and all the hills where I was in France made it pretty nerve racking.

Both I suppose. Probably isn't ever going to be an issue for that truck you referenced, but personally I don't see the worth in cutting the bedsides and not including protection into the bumper build. Even if not cut, the bedsides will fold on a rock easily.

I would pass on that. It's too flush to protect even your tailgate. Besides are not always protected, especially with a pre runner style, but this bumper has no corner protection. Not one to knock somebody's work but I would prefer the stock bumper over that for protection.

Ah ok I see what you mean. If it were just up to looks, I like the no guard one, But realistically the guarded one makes more sense if I was actually going to do it.

Ya Im not going to. Im not sure if I can commit to cutting the bedsides with my truck only at 90k miles. I think if I got it up to 200k Id consider it more with the resell lower then Im at now.

Was driving in the Truck this evening and she smelled pretty nice. Mz PHM was in it earlier and though maybe it was left over fragrance from her which is why I make her drive the truck occasionally.

Figured out I had a loose rag with some drops of 3in1 Oil left in the back floor board. I now have a New Fragrance. Au dú Shreeinone.

Fun anecdote about the corner protection offered by the stock bumper.
I was doing a 40pt turn in my neighbor's back yard recently (on a hill, very dark, lots of trees and obstacles) and bumped the corner on a brick retaining wall.
The bumper contacted the body and buckled slightly about a foot inboard of the corner. I'll get some pictures once the sun comes up.

Saw this when we were on our way home from mule trip long time ago.

Any of you big trailer people mind explaining any logical reason for this other than the dude forgot about a drop hitch?

He probably doesn’t know he can flip the hitch cause it definitely needs some height. Lotta tongue weight on there now. Hopefully one of his TT friends straightens him out

That part is the engine equivalent to the human appendix. Has a purpose I'm sure, but no one knows what it is.. haha.

Typically those weird chambers are just to silence the intake noise.

Not saying that's the case here but who knows.

I was going to say some sort of resonator.....

Aside from the vacuum ports its there for sound suppression. Kind of like a resonator.

Airaid made a kit that does just that, its a tube without the box or the flex section. Makes noise but no noticeable power gains.

Haha I was thinking about you this morning or last night; did your mom participate in your scouting trips, or did she get a more calm weekend at home mostly by herself(I know you said you have other bros)
It was usual always me and pops, and my sister and mom went and had fun by themselves. A fun story was one year for a summer camp we used both our vehicles as transportation, and one of the other leaders let my mom use his “man van”-a super brown/gold pearl Astro van, for the week+ while we were gone. They laughed soooo hard about the man van! That was also during the summers of my moms glove mobile collection era, so I’m sure it was fun times!

I know, but seems like a part that could be removed and you wouldn't notice it was gone. Like an appendix. Haha.
