Are these the stock TRD Offroad wheels? Just painted black? Looks good.

Looking at these tires, I like em, plan is 315/70/17 on 17" methods (0 offset). Probably going to get the BMC before hand since there's very little chance it won't rub anyway

Went on a 1.5 hour drive in fresh powder on country roads, snow about 4-6" thick. Shown here as a tight pack but is was fluffy about half the time. Only needed 2WD and the tires provided excellent traction IMO. Temperature 19F.

Hey all, been a while. But I always come back here in times of decision making.
These are my #1 pick for my 2018 Armada.
Anyone racking up the miles yet?
I tow frequently and they will see a good amount of road miles.
But I want the piece of mind for offroad and snow.

I want a AT, 60k warranty, Load E, that performs great towing.
I've ran Cooper on a lot of vehicles and trust them.
I can't find a better option for my needs.

I have had my back right blow out for no reason. Just got off of the interstate thankfully. Put spare on and drove to tire Rama and they got a new one no questions asked because I only had about 2000 miles on them. They don’t do well in mud at all, or ice. Good on road and dirt roads though. I think I’m going with duratrax, or wildpeak next time.

They have been doing pretty well these last few days on the snow and ice here in Dallas. No spinning or slipping. And I’m going everywhere just to stay warm in the truck!

I test them out here in Wyoming all the time 4Hi or 2Wd. 4Hi gets it done okay for everything with occasional drifts side to side, or trying to move out of the way. In 2Wd I will be drifting every where. Just saying they are not as good as I thought they would be for this Wyoming weather. Duratax probably are in the future.

It was -18 to -25 all last two weeks here. I feel for you all in Texas with that generic power.

I'm only in snow 5-10 days a year, and that's by choice.

I still figure they'll be better than any HT in snow. I've had HTs on the Armada for 2 years.

Anyone else? I'd like to pull the trigger on tires today.

See my post 605 above, they're fine in snow IMO, especially if it's only a few days a year.

    My priorities, in order:

    - Strong tire (E rated, check that box)
    - Quiet
    - Long lasting
    - Good looking

I tow 6k miles a year so the Duratracs won't work, they're far too soft under load even when pumped up. So far I'm very happy with these Coopers.

    @BrakeDust thanks.

I think the only other tire I'm considering at this point is the Toyo Open Country A/T III.
All specs considered they're an equal tire, except the Cooper is 60K and Toyo 50K for warranty.

@ColoradoTJ you still liking them? I know you probably use the hell out of them.

I have about 25k on mine with over half those miles in winter snow / ice conditions as I normally drive my work truck during the construction season.

No, they are not the best at winter driving. But anything short of dedicated snow tires will also perform less than ideal on snow / ice. The tires still get around fine tho when you use 4x4 when needed.

Overall I am extremely happy with them. Quiet, smooth, wearing very well, and perform great for my use.

However, if I had to get new tires tomorrow I would give a hard look at the Toyo AT3’s. They were not out when I got my tires almost 2 years ago, otherwise I would have picked them because they are 3 peak winter rated in my tire size. My XLT’s are snow rated, but not 3 peak. Have heard great things about the Toyos, but am turned off a bit since they have reports of being loud (which I HATE).

I have more than 40,000 miles on mine now and it seems like it is only half way through the tread life. My guess is that I will easily exceed 60,000. I do a lot of off-road driving in sand and stone that eats away at the tires, and even with that it is still holding up great. I am in Florida though, so no snow experience.
I have Coopers on all my other vehicles also.

My father has the Toyo AT3’s on his GMC. Definitely quieter than my Duratrac’s and Wildpeaks I used to have. Seem to do great in about every condition.

We went 36 hours straight with no power..
Second day we drove to Bucees to get the wife some coffee, charge our phones, and just to be in a warm truck.
Went to Waffle House to eat something hot.
Fortunately it came back on last night..

We feel blessed, a lot of people still have no power..

Had my new tires out in the snow on Monday, they did just fine. I honestly never thought I would get a chance to test them, because, well, Texas. But it's been a weird week.

I have 20k miles on them now as of today. 8-9/32nds.

They have worked well in snow and ice, wear has been even, and worn fast. I might get 30k out of them at the wear bars.

You first statement isn’t necessarily true. I drove commercial vehicles for quite a few years and pretty much owned pickup trucks my whole life. All terrain LT tires are typically very good in deeper snow (foot or above)...better than a HT tread. LT tires are designed to be stronger and generally are made to be harder to handle the stress of a light trucks and towing. For the most part the harder the tire the less the traction (on road). For example I found the Michelin LTX tire to be superior in moderate wintery conditions (12” or less) to ANY AT tire I have owned. Believe it or not those Michelin’s were always the least likely to set off the traction control in all of the Tacoma’s and 4Runner’s I owned.

I would not put LT tires on my Tundra because I don’t Offroad per se. I do travel dirt ATV/hunting trails and many HT I have had got the job done. Some are down right terrible though but some of the big name AT tires I have owned we terrible as well...

Really? Discount Tire specifically uses the Coopers as an example of the 3-peak tires. Took a pic of mine to prove it but imgur is "over capacity" and can't take uploads.

What's your next tire going to be?

Specifically going LT load E for towing stability. My Armada is also heavier than a Tundra and has a higher payload rating. Do I really need to go AT though....that's more of an aesthetic preference thing for me. An HT might make more sense for my use.

The mileage that people are getting out of these tires seems to be all over the board. I've noticed that on other forums and reviews as well.
You being over 40k already is impressive though.
But, @ColoradoTJ has made me start to 2nd guess these based on his wear report.

I don't dislike these tires. With a 60K mile warranty and if I only get 30K miles out of them my next set will be quite a bit cheaper. :D

Wouldn't mind trying a set of these out.

    A bunch
Different roads will cause major variations in tread life - only way to be sure is a direct comparison by people in the area. The roads can be quite different in terms of roughness - I'd expect Florida roads to be smoother than Colorado roads, and therefore better wearing. Best way here would be a comparison to the stock Michelin's - there's lots of people that can give data on that - to see if a region is higher wearing than another.

This is what mine looks like after 40k. (probably 42k actually) I think that there is still a lot left in them. You can also see the little pit marks in them from driving in sand and gravel which adds wear.
    Front:
    upload_2021-2-17_15-37-24.jpg

    Rear:
    upload_2021-2-17_15-40-6.jpg

Front vs Rear doesn't really matter since I do regular rotations and I cross rotate so they don't just go back to front but side to side also to change rotational direction which prevents feathering.

Agreed. Different road surfaces, uses, on-road vs off-road, even highway speed. 70 mph wears a lot more than 40 mph, but at the same time stop-start city driving adds more wear than consistent speed highway driving. So many factors to keep in mind, so almost no comparison would be apples-apples.
My original OEM Bridgestones though had the exact same use as these Coopers, and I only got 38,000 miles out of them. I have now already surpassed that at 42,000 and I still have a lot of life left in them, so it is already a win-win just comparing my own tires.

I see what you say about the wear bars. Mine are not far from them, but at the same time these wear bars seem to be a lot higher than other tires that I have had. On previous tires I have felt a need to replace them even before I reached the wear bars, while on these it seems like by the time I reach them there will still be a good amount of tread left.

Going with a LT on the Armada makes sense especially if your towing a lot. Aesthetically speaking an AT tire is the best choice...
