Hi everyone, I just joined the forums and recently acquired a 2000 toyota tundra sr5 with 270k miles, I was changing the fluids, spark plugs, and was checking when the timing belt was last changed and just my luck, it was time. Anyone have a good mechanic or a DIY person that knows how to do the job. I am currently in Everett, Washington.

Don,t let that one wait too long. My daughter had an acura with a belt and interference engine....when the belt let go....so did the engine. It was not worth the $ to repair. So if it is time, call around and get some estimates. Timing belt breaking will ruin your month.

Just did mine. With some basic tools(and something to hold the crank pulley), it can be done in a couple afternoons. I just got mine at 119k, and wasn't sure of the history so I figured I wouldn't chance it.. glad I didn't; it was 30k overdue and on borrowed time. Dodged a bullet there...
