If you dont mind posting pictures of how you mount the lights I'd appreciate it! I'm looking to get a set when work eases up.

At first I tried to just weld light supplied brackets on but without it on the truck it looked like it was going to aim up too much and adjusting would roll it out of alignment in rectangular slot. It would be way better for this application if it pivoted for adjustment in the back instead of front. The light lens is basically as big as the slot so if it is off a little some light will never make it out of the bumper blocking it and it would not be straight in hole. You might be able to make it work with some effort but I decided to cut off bumper supplied brackets and start over with this idea. This will allow 3 ways to adjust (will be a pain to set up initially but worth the effort I hope). We Dremeled out light supplied brackets (on picture with my finger in slot) to widen for up down adjustment where it bolts to new tabs. This will allow straightening lights out somewhat to the road with the three hole options and centering vertically in bumper slot aesthetically since it is tight fit. The 3rd back hole looked ok mounted but not sure if some light will be blocked by being set back on that side? From the front it was actually hard to tell one side was back further but it straightened it towards the road better. The design for the bumper was not made for fogs but light bars that would sort of work as ditch lights angled off. I will not be able to get completely straight to the road but figured this will help and I can try different holes to see what works or looks best. Of note is that the diode dynamics also are short on lens width to the slot by a half inch or so on each side so they do not fill the hole perfectly on the front side but I am set on legal fogs so going to run with it since it’s recessed anyway. I’ll try to get pictures once installed after paint but I forgot to take one on the dry fit.

The bumper light bracket was the perfect width for the diodes but hole was not deep enough inside the bumper for the light. You could just weld a small plate on the existing tab if you cut it square to lengthen it and drill a new hole back further and rely on only the front screw to hold and tighten really well with supplied lock washer and some loctite but I didn’t want to risk it moving around since I’m not painted yet. You could try that since yours is already finished? Another idea we thought of was fabricating a new bracket similar to the usable part of the factory diode dynamic bracket but putting the slotted adjustable hole in back and single pivot hole in front exactly reverse of the supplied.

Unfortunately the bumper was designed around RC’s led light bar so it’s not going to be perfect I guess for different lights but I am personally looking forward to amber sae/dot legal fogs for Colorado snow days.

Great post! Thanks for the feedback, when I get around to mounting mine ill post how I do it. When you get everything installed could you take some more photos? And some pictures with the fog lights on to see the light output?

Finished all the metal work today. Fabrication to try to get my lights to work, drilled and dremeled holes that have flat sides for the sonic sensors and cleaned everything up a bit. My welding is not as nice as @Sumo 91 ‘s work so I will do very light bondo work on all front side welds to fill imperfections. It has been fun practicing welding though. My friend is letting me use his Miller 250 and shop. His welder is amazing. I do want to get one of those Yeswelders soon though. I was looking at those already and this thread convinced me it would suit my needs. My friend used to fabricate when he was younger so he has helped and guided all the way through. I did not forgot to supply the beer though. Still trying to figure out a good time to paint though. It’s a bit cold for painting outside and I don’t have a good area to paint inside so will have to wait for a warmish sunny day and paint early enough to handle it after a few hours to put it inside his shop with wood stove heat overnight. This may take a couple separate weekend days since I will epoxy prime and let dry before I sand and Raptor line.026758EC-F80D-4EA7-8AB4-8F178F98CAE0.jpg

I understand that! You should look into taking the bumper to get Line xed in premium, I paid 295 after tax, plus it has a lifetime warranty, they spray it on pretty thick too so it hides any imperfections, so no need for bondo. Your bumper is looking great! Good job on the welds! All that grinding sucked though didn't it? my hands were numb by the time I got done grinding.

This has been a lot of work for sure! but luckily I had some help on all the welding and grinding. I already ordered my Raptor liner so I’m committed. It may cover really well too but I did body work when I was younger so the bondo should only take me less than an hour including the dry time (cheap insurance-it doesn’t need that much). Really appreciate this thread! Thanks

Well I hope it turns out awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product! I wish I had a helper when I was doing my bumper. My dog just watched me most of the time haha. Stick around these forums. There are some great people here and before you know it you'll have a whole list of stuff you wanna do to your truck.

Did it outside, 2k Epoxy primed, a little bondo and 50 degree weather which is a little unusual in February but I’ll take it! Warmed up my buddy’s shop with wood stove and got it inside once dry to touch 88F1AF06-FAF8-46AA-AE67-9C3F2E45631E.jpg and he’ll top it off tonight. Hopefully install next weekend. Pulled the stand over I setup to hang the winch tray to spray on the other side with the air hose spraying it ... oops. Rubbed the dirt off once tack free and sprayed a little touch up. luckily landed in the dirt on the inside which doesn’t show. Really happy with the finished product. Took 2 full cans primer and 2 bottles of bed liner to get all the nooks and crannies ( yes I’m picky). Could have used a hair more primer. I’ll update on fogs and install with pics when I finish in a week or two for @Sumo91 and @CaptainCobb.

Thanks! Can’t wait to get it installed. Got some sweet shackles for it too. I forgot to respond to an earlier reply by you. Yes, seems like some cool folks on the forum and the mod list is already gotten too big. So many good ideas on here. Not sure how I will keep up but should be fun.

Finished the bumper install today just as the snow was starting! @CaptainCobb Looks awesome on white truck. Will adjust the gaps a little more later. It did change a little from all the welding even though I welded a couple inches at a time moving around randomly on different areas trying not to heat up too much. @Sumo91 The lights went in no problem but will have to tweak and adjust another day but looks like easy enough access from below. I’ll get some night patterns another time once I adjust. Used plug kit to convert from factory plug to diode dynamics plug so it was plug and play with just some zip tying needed to clean up excess wire.

Couple more pics65893930-EACB-4728-9A59-30D010498B98.jpg0936675B-D896-4509-B141-6AB07CA34EA1.jpgLooks like room for bigger tires once lift is complete. That may take a little while to save funds though. Now I’m dying to put on RCI skid plate and get rid of chrome on the grill and rear bumper caps after seeing it with the bumper on. Planning on plasti dipping emblems anyway so may do chrome temporarily while I’m at it then color match pro grille later some day after priority mods completed.

@Jmor6766 that looks great!!!! It's definitely something be proud of, riding around with a slick bumper you welded up yourself! The fog lights look really good, I need to get off my ass and order some lol I like the shackles too. I have a couple of them but I keep them in the truck so no one runs off with them. Now you just need to slap in winch in that bad boy :p I hope more members get this bumper. It's a great deal for what it is, and really makes the truck look great. My gf comments on it alot (she bought it for me for Christmas:D) I think it'll take a good hit in the middle for deer too. Hopefully I don't have that happen again, but it's added insurance just in case.

Thanks man! Yeah it was a pretty rewarding experience. I got GearAmerica anti theft shackles so hopefully nobody steals them although someone with ingenuity could do it. This will look even better when it gets a winch and a 30” light bar later! Overall I think it’s a fantastic value if you are not afraid of the work. Awesome of your gf to get it for you. Hope I don’t test it on a deer but they are all over where I live. Don’t know if it would help much with a moose or elk around here but it is beefy on the front side so maybe and deer are more prominent anyway and it’s definitely tough enough for a low or mid speed hit. My friend hit a deer with me in his jeep about a month ago 3/16” steel bumper that he hand built and it didn’t affect bumper at all!

Used my winch for the first time yesterday, to really put it to the test, my camper was hooked up to my truck, 8k lbs, and the pasture was really muddy, got stuck pretty good, was able to winch myself out using a tree, with the camper attached to the truck, it was pretty awesome to watch, the bumper didn't deform at all. Harbor freight winch for the win!

Nice! I read somewhere that the harbor freight won one of the 4 wheel magazine winch shoot outs against all the major competition including expensive winch brands. Not sure which magazine though. Glad to hear the bumper handled it no problem!

It was pretty impressive. I did alot of research and decided on this one for the price and features. There's a guy on YouTube that goes rock crawling alot and has used it every weekend for a year without issue. The specs are really nice.

    12k capacity
Wireless remote with a magnetic base
    80 ft synthetic line
    Aluminum fairlead
    Waterproof
Cost $480 after using a 20% off coupon.

@Sumo91 still haven’t adjusted fogs. I don’t have a great place to put on a wall near my house and have been driving work truck most of the time but here are some pics of the diode dynamics ss6. Not the greatest pics but they sure do light things up. I did mount them in the furthest back hole on my mount to straighten out as much as possible.

@Jmor6766 those looks awesome! I got mine in white. I'm excited to get home and get them installed after I finish this job. The weather is perfect for it too.

How hard is it to get the angles right when welding up? I was an ironworker/welder in a previous life lol so im not concerned of the welding part of things just curious how it goes together with getting everything lined up properly. In the welding I did precise angles was never an issue as i did structural welding on buildings where 1/4 inch off was within spec on alot of things lol

It's not too difficult to get the angles, it has a backing bar/plate that helps align 3 of the pieces to make fitting it easier, I believe there are 5 "wings" on each side. Just tack it in place all the way around as close as you can, then bend and adjust from there. It all goes together pretty great. Grinding the welds down is the worst part. Wear a good mask!

Yes, that alignment bar has little slot holes and each wing piece has a tab that slides in tight (I tack welded these). I used a tape measure at corners for distance it stuck out on corner area from truck in a couple spots and tack welded where I liked it. Also used a flat bar to clamp wing pieces flat as I went but the gaps did open up a little when I welded off of truck even though I welded 2” areas and skipped all around trying not to heat up. If I had to do over I would have welded a little more than just tack welds while it was dry fitted on truck so I could have manipulated it a little more if needed. Overall the gaps on the side are maybe 1/8” bigger than middle of truck on mine but I think I can shim that pretty close to even with a couple washers on frame bolts next time I take it off for a light bar or winch. It still is not noticeable to others but I am a perfectionist. The tabs and a tape measure should be all you need to make it look pretty good since you already have welding skills.

Nice if it has backing plates I'm golden. Yea blending welds sucks.
Awesome. I think im going to get me one and give it some stick love:welder: stick is my specialty and my preferred medium. I have a mig as well but I don't use it much. I just love burning rods.
