For me, it’s a tie between the stereo head unit and the [strangely] missing A pillar hand hold.

This. Hands down, because it's so cheap and easy for Toyota, and completely unnecessary to omit it. It's one if those simple things that make life easier, especially if you're like me and enjoy having all windows open when it's nice out. There's no good way to hold all 4 (5 with back window, 6 if + sunroof) and get them all up/down quickly and easily. So unnecessarily frustrating...

Missing a pillar is an easy and not too expensive fix. Head unit....ok costs a little more but still not hard to change with a harness

Yea this one is annoying and no sure fire way that I'd trust to make it work. I've seen some people try and some have success and others not so much.

Easy fixes! If that's the worst thing about your truck then you're getting out cheaper than the rest of us

When I plug my iPhone into the USB port, 25% of the time the head unit won’t detect it and won’t charge it. Cycling power to the truck fixes it, but I just use a 12v adapter to charge it now (using Bluetooth for audio).

The complete lack of storage under the rear seats in the CrewMax. Not that you can't mod that, but it should have come that way from the factory!

I won't disagree with you on the ease and overall cost...but even the high level trims are missing all of those things. The irritating part is having to knock out all of those easy and cheap things after paying the $50K for the truck.

When a truck is so good that the biggest things people complain about is silly shit that doesn’t matter like window switches, remote start, and grab handles, you know it’s a good truck.

The transmission's reluctance to do any engine braking. What's worse is when the torque converter seems to unlock when you lift off throttle then get back on. Like coasting down a hill then going back up. You lift off the throttle, then get back on and the engine revs climb a little bit before locking back down low.

The sensation is as if every time you start going down hill, you push the clutch in, then you need power again and you slowly let the clutch out while feeding throttle, until the clutch finally grabs completely.

To be fair, this isn't a Tundra specific issue I guess. I think every torque converter I've driven does this, it's just so annoying now coming from manual transmissions.

I’m happy its not more popular. I see Dodges, Fords, and Chevy’s (GMC) on every damn corner. I’m perfectly ok with being a little different and unique. ;)

Pretty much. Though I do agree with the sentiments above.

For me it's probably the auto down/up thing.

I wonder if this might be something you can have flashed or such. I say this because out of any truck I've ever owned, my Tundra is the, uh, 'engine-brakiest.' (It's a word now. LOL)

The realization that it's still a 2nd gen truck, and that the 3rd gen won't even be available until next year.

I do miss having a keyed lock on my gas & passenger doors, my 1st gen has both.

No vehicle was more difficult for me to equip to figure out if it was what I wanted. I researched F150s months preceding my Tundra purchase and Ford offers some fairly complete trim packages.

I ultimately decided reliability was my #1 and went Toyota (and comparable pricing on that F150 was ridiculous), but I came in basic and reconciled I’d have to shop the aftermarket to make it like I wanted it. Great truck, and I’m a journey vs. destination person, but it’s irritating that some obvious things are missing and it ultimately turned me away from their higher trim packages.

I let the dealer know that, to the extent that ever helps anything.

100% agree! I’d add to this and say, if your Tundra irritations don’t make you chuckle, shake your head and murmur out a Texas-style “Shiii-et, guys.” then you need to go trade the thing in and get over your damn self.

I wish they would either put the drive train in from a limited 4Runner for full time 4wd or offer auto 4wd.

Something like one Tundra sold for every seven or eight F-150s last year.
