Tundra aftermarket headlights and taillights

I have a 2021 Tundra platinum and looking at changing the taillights for sure and possibly the headlights. I want them to be smoked but not a heavy black tint, something just subtle. Any suggestions? Thank you!

 

I wouldn’t touch your headlights. You already have the best ones. The trd pro version of those headlights has black plastic inside instead of chrome accents, but any other non-oem options on the market are a downgrade and will potentially cause other electrical issues.

 

Thank you, I was leaning towards just changing the back. That confirmed, if anything would the TRD with the tent work on the platinum?

 

Just to be clear, they’re not tinted. The lens is still clear. The chrome bits inside your current headlights are simply black.

It would be a plug and play swap. Takes about 15 minutes to change the headlights out.

 

Great, thank you for the information. I saw someone else on here do it and it looked really good. My truck is black and I’m in the middle of getting rid of all the chrome so I may end up doing that eventually.

 

I upgraded to TRD Pro headlights from SR5 halogens. Gives it more of a stealth look. Probably not much change in light output for a Platinum, but big improvement for my SR5.

I also changed the fog lights to Diode Dynamics white SS3 Max. They are not cheap, but really light up the road.

On my taillights and 3rd stop, I just used Luxe LightWrap (med smoke) and upgraded the bulbs to brighter LEDs.

 

Do you have any pictures of the tail lights? The headlights look great!

 

Also did you do the OEM on the headlights? Saw some cheaper ones but I don’t want junk.

Tint looks darker when truck is in the shade. The last photo is after-tint comparison with stock halogen bulbs vs new LED bulbs. More parts details are listed in my build post.

Seriously, stick with what you have or swap to the trd pro LEDs. They’re identical headlights with the same output, just the internal part is black instead of chrome. It should cost you about $600 for the pair.

All the aftermarket ones are junk or have problems blowing fuses, or have other issues.
