I am going to be swapping out my stock front and rear KYB shock/coil-overset up with TRD pull offs on my 07 SR5. I noticed that the TRD coil-overs have a blue painted dot marking on one coil and the other assembly has a yellow paint dot on the coil. Does anyone know if this have any significance? Left or Right markings maybe?

I think I just answered my own question. My stock coil-over on the right is marked with yellow and left is marked blue. Still not sure if it makes any difference.

There was a guy on another forum who actually measured the thickness of the coils and found out that they are of different thickness. If I remember correctly it was the driver's side that was thicker.

Good info. I am going to do the front swap out Sat. Going to measure coil thickness just out of curiosity. Replaced rear shocks yesterday. KYB's were toast. Kinda sucked trying to compress the Bilsteins with one hand and the other hand trying to align bolt, bolt hole, shock at the same time. Tried plastic ties to maintain compression but kept snapping. Oh well.

My neighbor is a mechanic by trade. He is going to help with the install. So in theory it should go well. Who is your alignment guy?

At least on the first Gen there are left and right struts....If the ones you have are already off a vehicle, simply match the color to the right side or you will have a droopy side in the extreme. On some of the struts (4-runner and such) the spring seat is actually placed higher on one side than it is on the other.

Thats good info. The spring seats are positioned slightly different. Enough to make a difference if installed on the wrong side. Thanks.

Got the swap done Saturday. Took two of us about 3 hours to complete. Rides nice, except the change over caused the yaw/pitch sensor to go nuts. (VSC, 4Hi, flashing and ABS light on solid.) Tried the paper clip method to no avail. Could do the shim thing but maybe just go to the stealership and get it over with.

The dealership route will cost around $100...I did the paper clip and dealer mod. Be sure to bring in the papers showing them what they have to do otherwise they'll have no clue what you're talking about...

Bring it into Jace at Stevinson.

I had no issues at all with my lift. Weird. Yea, if you can figure it out the dealership should be able to reset.

I got a copy of the TSB for zero point cal. Should take a couple minutes for the dealer to reset. It is weird. Already had a pro comp spacer on the stock coil-overs. New coil-overs were the same length with the spacer pre-install, but the truck gained about one inch more in height in the front after install. The extra inch probably tripped up the sensor. Just my luck.

Turns out my problem was a bad speed sensor cable. Sensor ohmed out good. Harness continuity was open. Replaced harness and all flashing light craziness went away. Go figure.

Well that's good the found and fixed the problem. Wonder if it was pulled on too hard or something during the lift install.

I recall that the driver side sensor harness was pretty taut even with hold down brackets removed. Should have completely disconnected harness. Victim of the dreaded "I forgot the last step" virus.

Leaving this here for reference as well. The springs on the left were from the drivers side and right are from the passenger. These are OEM coils.

Toyota factory driver's side springs are roughly a half inch taller (longer) than the passenger side springs.
