    Folks,

I'm a newbie to the Tundra family. I got rid of my 2002 F150 and upgraded to a 2015 Tundra. The truck came with a 4.5 BDS lift with new 35/12.5/18 Toyos and I have a little rub at full lock in reverse on the metal frame with the outside of the tire. I have been scouring forums to see what the best solution to the rub is. I have seen posts about a body chop, like this forum member posted. I'll be honest, I don't think I have the testicular fortitude or the skill to pull off a mod like this. Do you all have any other suggestions? Do you just live with the rub? If a body chop is the only option, do any of you know of a shop or guy in New Mexico (long shot here) to do the cut and weld? Thanks for any tips and advice!

Check and confirm yours is rubbing there. The BMC (body mount chop) is a common need for 35x1250 tires. Shops typically charge a couple hundred to perform it. Cant help with a shop in your area but I would say make sure they can do a decent weld. I have seen some pretty ugly weld jobs and look like rust magnets.

Another option- move to a 285/75/18, as tall or taller than your tires but narrower, so less likely to rub. 295/70s are another option, little thicker, but little shorter than the 285.

Do you happen to know your wheel offset?

Im trying to find that out. The truck came with XD series wheels and I’ve been trying to track down which ones I have exactly to see if I can get some wheel specs

Welcome from CO. If you do need a BMC, I would just find a good shop and pay the couple hundred bucks. I wouldn’t be able to live with the rub. It would drive me nuts.

I'd live with it. I'd sooner shave off a quarter inch from my tires with an angle grinder than start chopping/welding the body. Or run a spacer.
