I installed the Start X remote starter and Carlink smartphone system and now my tail lights don't work. They flash when I lock / unlock my car, but they don't turn on when I turn on my headlights. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Makes sure the BCM plug is fully engaged. That one seems to be a common issue when doing certain remote start kits. But first make sure you don’t have any bent pins on that clip.

Thanks, I'll try unplugging and plugging all the harnesses.

I unplugged and plugged the Start X harnesses and still no luck. To troubleshoot, I completely removed the Start X and Carlink and my tail lights still don't work.

When I lock and unlock the car with my key remote, the tail lights flash but when I turn on my headlights, the tail lights don't turn on. I should note I swapped out the factory license plate and reverse bulbs with LEDs prior to realizing the tail lights weren't working. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Have you checked the TAIL fuse? I don't remember which bulb does which in the tail lights, but there are two separate bulbs, and I assume circuits, for the brake and running light functions. There are fuse panels by the drivers side kick panel under the dash and another under the hood by the battery. Check both locations.

Yup... the tail fuse was blown. Thanks TRDFerguson!
