planning on doing some wiring this week on the 2013 DC. running the camera up into the tailgate. saw some youtube vids for that. seems simple. not sure where to run it into the cab. ive seen people say passenger side by the passenger feet there is a plug that you can put it through?

i also plan on running an extra wire for a future bed lighting install. from everything i see, the place to bring that into the cab is the drivers side rear, and tap into a blackish/purplish/ pukebrownish wire. but idk if thats the same with the DC. also not sure where i should bring it into the bed?

could it potentially be easier while im running the wire for the cam for me to route the bed light wire along with it and continue it from the head unit over to the cargo light switch?

Isn't the Tundie wired for everything? Just needs the accessories?

yes passenger side for both. Follow the harness from toyota.
camera: there is a plug underneath passenger floor so you can pull wire here.
bed LED: I ran +12V the same way except it went up in the engine bay then behind engine then to +12v battery.
LED ground I tapped a screw in the rear driver side
    wire loom as well.

cause ive seen tons of people askign tons of questions when they try to use the oem wiring. like where the other end is, and apparently it ends in different places, and people cant find wires? idk. on every thread i see about using oem wires, tons of people just say run new ones. and it honestly just seems easy. particularly since i have to run the wires for the bed lights too. and the camera came with the wires i need for that, so yeah.

for the camera i plan on running a reverse signal wire from the head unit to the reverse bulb, a + and a - for the camera. as well as the vid feed. then 3 wires for the bed lights. one to be controlled from the oem dash switch, and one to be turned on and off in the tailgate.

perfect, thanks. what is the preferred way to get the + and - wires from under the truck, into the bed?

behind the driver headlight for bed LED and for the rear camera, follow the tailgate harness above spare tire to rear bumper hole that goes into tailgate.

pretty much both wiring start the same from engine bay/passenger foot well then split at the rear axle: LED goes to driver side and backup camera goes passenger side/spare tire. That's how I did it.
I suggest you drop the spare tire as well to make it easier to route wires.

thanks. the tailgate seems pretty straight forward. so im assuming you mean behind the driver taillight? follow the wire up into the taillight and then there will be an obvious hole to put the wire through, or do i have to drill my own hole?

yes behind the driver tail light and from there it goes inside bed, there is a hole already through the body panel.
