Needed a truck storage box for occasional use but couldn’t bring myself to pay a few hundred for a big heavy metal box. Mostly needed it for gear when road hunting, winter fishing and such outdoor trips with the family when my canopy is not installed (late fall through early summer). Was tired of the apes in my back seat trampling all over everything.

Came across these tool storage chests at home depot from dewalt and husky back in November. I bought the dewalt one as I really like dewalt and liked the style a little better. The husky version is very similar and a little cheaper so a great option as well.

I added some u bolt brackets on each end to strap it secure and chain lock it in place. These probably wouldn’t hold up very well if left in bed for extended time. Luckily its light enough and has wheels for easy loading and unloading as needed. Great place to throw muddy boots, jackets and winter gear, along with chains, shovel and such. It really opened up a lot of room in the cab by providing a convenient place to store stuff. Could also be used in place of totes for storage and transport of any number of things.

Bought mine for $90 but now price is $80, husky one is $70. Pretty good solution for under $100. Sure I'm not first person to think of this but wanted to share.

I use two of those big Dewalt ones for work and they are fantastic! I’ve beat the hell out of them and they still work great and seal tight.

Good to hear. Figured if they can stand up to what they were designed for in tool storage it should work well enough for hunting and camping type gear.
