I have a C4 bumper on order and am curious to know if you had to relocate the control unit on the wench? C4 website states it must relocated but then I’ve read on this forum that a 12k wench can fit.

 

I feel like this is too perfect so it must be a setup. (I also see you are new to the forum and I hope you didn’t read all the pages of this thread, if you did I apologize. So the following is all sarcasm based on how sideways this thread went. Welcome to the thread Lisa, sarcasm knows no bounds here)

The wench will not fit in the bumper. But she will be a welcome addition to the well pictured above. Unscented lotion works best for most purposes and activities down there. Reception will assist you upon check in.

That being said, my 12,000 pound Warn winch did not need anything relocated at all. It bolts right on with no problems and fits with zero issues.

I did clock my winch for easier access to the clutch lever. So instead of having the lever up on the top and having to reach your arm up in there and at a somewhat weird angle in a mud puddle or in the dark, it is right there at the opening now.

Another issue is being able to plug in your hand held controller to winch in and out. Mine is wireless which is nice, but it is also a failure point waiting to happen one day based on a battery or signal. If I do relocate it, it will be to access the plug in point as a backup option. But that’s me being redundant. I know there are tons of people with wireless Warn winches with zero issues. What could go wrong?

 

By voicing your concerns you jinxed it and are doom for both wench and winch failure.

I woke up at 03:30 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. Yes, I did read the whole thread from start to finish so it really was a blurry eye’d wench. Not certain what that has to say about me when the first thing I do is reach for the iPad to see the latest posts . Several times you and company had me laughing out loud so thank you for that. If I didn’t know better I’d swear there was a little hand holding and bro hugs going in the back ground. The well is getting crowded and needs a second story added on. . . . Can a well have a second story?

Appreciate the humor and info on the bumper. I was about to pull the trigger on a relocation kit. While researching the reloc kit I ran across a “shorty” extension kit (don’t go there) Warn PN 98348. May be what you need for a wired connection. Odd that I couldn’t find the PN on the Warn site but it is available on Amazon.

All great colors without a doubt. Icon fitment says it won't fit my model, arrghhh. These wheel fitment systems are always break hearts, and im fed up with it. Anyhow going with a 17" wheel 35" rubber. See what I need to do to make this dream happen.

 

Fun fact - I was the student facilities manager for Fike '08-10. Was a dope student job. Personal access to Fike whenever I wanted when it was closed. On Sunday AMs, me and the boys would go workout before it was open. Put some Jeezy on the building system - ahh those were the days!

Why wouldn’t the Icon wheel fit your 2016? If it’s a 5x150 bolt pattern and a Gen 3 Tundra then they will fit. What am I missing here?
