Finally started getting her to earn her keep. Told her if she doesn't start helping out with firewood for the stove, she is sleeping outside.

That's awesome! My uncle had a dalmatian named Ace. He was such a happy derp. Are they related or all from different breeders?

 

They all live here, and that's where the association ends. I've been working with Dal rescue since my first one in '92, and these are the most current 4, out of 8 that I've shared my life with.

Charlie came to us as a puppy last summer, his Mom allegedly died a week after the litter was born. He's the cover boy on the 2021 Dal Rescue of North Texas Calendar! I can only imagine how annoying I would be, if I had had any kids!

This is Cora, she belongs to the boss and I get to see her every day. When I got my knee replacement last fall and came back to work I got to take care of her. Light duty. Makes me want to go to work!!! LOL
She reminds me of a muppet.

Posted here before when she was a pup, but she is growing up fast. This dog sure loves the water! More than even land I think!

I'm glad to see that GSDs are well-represented here. I grew up with one, then two, but then it was a long span of many years before I grew up and finally got this one, now 9 years old. It's amazing to see the color change from her puppy fur. She's wicked smart, awfully stubborn, but super loving (to those she chooses!).

 

Then my wife decided to go volunteer at the county shelter, under the condition she would not bring home a dog. Several months later, she fell for an 18-month-old German Shepherd, so here I am again with two... the smart one and the, ummm, really sweet goofy one. I figured she was going to bring home a dog at some point; might as well be a GSD! Yes, she actually sleeps on her back like that. And yes, on the bed. We had to upgrade to a king size.

Our Australian terrier changed a lot in colour, too. When he was little, he could have passed for a Rottweiler other than the size. Now he's definitely black and tan - similar colouring to a Yorkie or an Airedale but he wouldn't pass for either of those.
