Thanks for lending me your impact last trip Dave. Hand cranking would’ve killed me. I had zero tools on me that trip. :D

I’m rethinking that. Every truck/vehicle that placed well at Parker 425 had boards mounted on them, mostly stacked on spares. Not sure if they used them though.

I thought I saw someone here use them or something jury rigged that was quite similar.... and quite successfully . Might have been a youtube link.

Yeah but in a race you’re basically running solo. Other racers aren’t stopping and pulling out their snatch straps to get you unstuck.

Yeah I’ve seen videos of people strapping 2x4’s on their wheel. It looks like it would work. I think I might try these just so I don’t have to lug around my boards.

    That's what it was!
The boards are great but bulky as hell.

Now that I have a ProEagle, in that situation I’d Jack up the pumpkin and just drive forward a few inches.

We did that. Fail. ProEagle no drive in sand. Alex stacked a few rocks like a traction board and all good.

I'm still looking for the perfect spot. I had it just inside the tailgate but that doesn't work well when I need the truck for work

I would get beefier shackles. If you happen to use them with a kinetic strap, you could easily max out their capacity.

speaking of which, I’d also add a kinetic strap. I watch a YouTube channel that is nothing but off-road recoveries in Utah, and the guy uses kinetic straps for 95% of the recoveries he does.

Not necessarily recovery gear but no one ever talks about the first aid kit.

these assume you have the extra clearance in you wheelwell so that if you turn your wheel you don’t rip the crap out of your rig!

plus they don’t work very well....

Gotcha. I'm looking to get some sort of floor jack (maybe not necessarily the ProEagle) and trying to figure out where I'd put it. (Here's why: https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...d-gen-tundra-today.713/page-1735#post-2090813).

Was thinking maybe right behind the wheel wells attached to the bed rail somehow. That'd be a bit of a moment arm on the rail though if you let it sit on the bed floor.
I did buy one this year, one of those things you hope you don't need but glad you have when you do.

I would only use them in the rear. And would probably get those aluminum ones. I can see these rubber ones slipping. And for that matter traction boards don’t really work very well neither. I’ve used the boards maybe 5 times and only once did they actually work.

I'm considering a similar idea and yes, the way I drive off road it'll require some serious reinforcement/ special mount. I have a half baked idea and am hoping to get some time to work on it soon. Basically, I'm thinking of bolting a 90* upright through the bed floor to plate welded to the frame and probably the bed rail at the top.

I also thought about using one of the bed stiffeners at the tailgate and/or actual bed to frame bolts and make up some sort of frame/plate to connect that to the jack and bed rail mount points. I just need to get out and measure things up when there's not a snow storm...

Any specific kinetic straps in mind?

Yup, got plently of IFAKS and boo boo kits so that's why I didn't post it on this thread
